EW and EASY?
« on: February 12, 2010, 12:26:25 pm »
I'm posting this in the EASY as it really seems to be a routine question. Feel free to move if I'm wrong...

So my 4 mo old is on a 4-hr EASY but yesterday we got off schedule because I had to run an errand in the evening  :(. She ended up taking a CN in her carseat and instead of going to bed at 7:15 she was in bed by 7:30 and fell asleep at 8 (no crying). I'm pretty sure she wasn't OT because of the CN in the car which is an extra nap for her since she usually doesn't take a CN. So we are off schedule by about an hour---she usually wakes up for a feed at night around 4:30-5 and today she woke up at 5:45. I tried to put her down thinking if she'd sleep until 7 we could get back on track but she was hungry!!!!

While she was nursing, I could see she was still drowsy, not awake like she usually is in the morning so I put her back in her crib (7 A). She babbled for about 5 minutes and then fell asleep. So now I'm not sure what to do?...let her sleep for an hour and try to get back on track later in the day or wake her up? What do you normally do in this situation when they wake up hungry so close to their real wake-up but still sleepy?

I think I would let her sleep in...just bc she is still just catching up on her night time sleep.

I used to feed and put back down too - but then wake up by 30 mins over his usual get up time so I didn't get too off track.

Well that's what I did today. She napped poorly all day so I feel like I've been playing catch up. She just seems to be fighting sleep today...I guess she is OT. I put her down for bed 45 minutes earlier than usual because she seems so tired---hopefully this will put her back on track. thanks for the advice!

Lay ins always backfired on me too  ::). I always felt they robbed the first nap, and then after 1 short nap it was hard to get back on track for the day.

That is why I grudgingly said goodbye to them!!
