restless baby
« on: February 12, 2010, 16:56:51 pm »
Hi

Our son is almost 12 weeks old, we think he has wind issues and maybe this is the problem.  Basically he thrashes around every 10 mins in his sleep and will only settle after having his back patted or being cwtched.  He wont sleep in moses or cot bed (but am going to persevere with this) so at the moment he sleeps on us which is not ideal.
I'm wondering if its wind thats bothering him as you can hear rumbling in his belly (not through hunger) and if so hopefully this should clear soon as he gets older.  But the restlessness is relentless and he looks like he's uncomfortable.
Has anyone else's baby had this problem, or know how to resolve it ?  I was going to swaddle him but he has found his hands and likes sucking them.

Thank you for any responses.

being cwtched

Sorry, what is this word supposed to be?

If your baby seems in pain/discomfort lying on his back, I'm wondering if reflux might be a cause.  Check out this thread to see if you see any of these sorts of symptoms:  http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=654.0

We had alot of wind issues with our boy, we used alot of wind relief drops, changed our bottles to dr browns bottles that eliminates air intake when feeding. Wind kept our boy up alot, definately check out the reflux info :)
