Not sure what to do with the rest of today's EASY....
« on: February 15, 2010, 15:08:23 pm »
Hi all-

So after months of short naps we've been on track for a while now.  Last week's night sleep was totally crazy while he cut his first tooth but daytime sleep still stayed ok with 3-3.5h of daytime sleep.  We're basically off the CN except very occasionally if he has an EW. Which is what happened yesterday....

(Went down at 6:30 the night before...)

5:15: Awake, E
8:10: S
9:00: A
11:30: S
1:00: A
4:00: S
4:55: I woke him
7:35: S
1am: Awake, E
5:10: Awake, E (was trying to get him to go back down)

And today....

5:40: A
9:25: S
8:55: awake, yelled out for a minute but went back down
9:20: Awake (DH was home and he said there was no hope of extending)

Monday morning quarterbacking makes me think I shouldn't have let him take that 3rd nap for so long but I really thought he needed to catch up a bit.  I'm sure it had to do with the EW today, but I didn't think he could get to bedtime without it.  He went down so well for the first nap today that I was sure it would be a better one but alas, no luck.

I'm particularly stressed about this b/c we're leaving on vacation tomorrow and I really wanted him to be well rested but he's totally OT at the moment and just not himself.  Awesome.

Thoughts about what to do the rest of today?  I feel like I'm in the same spot I was in yesterday and it clearly didn't work so I'm a little lost.

Thanks.

oh Kim!
I just saw this...I'm sorry hun. Did you find something that worked out for him?

I think the only options would have been an extra nap or early bed

It's ok.  ;)  In the end I got a 1.5h nap that ended at 1:30.  I decided to just put him down at 5:15!  I figure we're going to the airport at 5:30 tomorrow morning anyhow so if he's up super early oh well.  I'd rather he get the sleep in early on.  We'll see how it goes!  I'm nervous about how the week will go with us being out and about and not on our routine all the time but we have to live a little, right?  And I really need to see some sun!!!   ;D

it'll be okay. really. I took my lo across timezones galore during the holiday and she was fine. She, for some reason, didn't change her canadian timezone so I ended up sleeping during the day and being awake at night. *sigh* but other than that, everything else was good! lol

enjoy...good luck with the airport!
