Last night...
Asleep at 7.10pm
I first heard him at 5.30am (old time) and he must've gone back to sleep as I next heard him at 8am (old time) so 9am new time!!
I don't know how long he'd been awake before 5.30am though it must've been a while for him to go back to sleep for so long.

So today wake
9am
No nap - he coped incredibly well - much better than I thought, he had a few wobbly moments but other than that he was very good.
Asleep 6.15pm (slightly earlier than originally planned but he was shattered) he was asleep within seconds - this has therefore completely confirmed the messing around at bedtime as UT.

I'll let you know in the morning how we go, I don't think he can cope with a 12hr day with no nap though, so thinking he'll have to have 30mins or so at some point...

At least you know now that he might need 30 mins or so.  Let us know how the night goes.

Ok so he had a very brief nw at 9.30pm - coincided with the toilet being flushed ::) this happens quite a lot.

I then heard him at 1.30am :(
At 2am I gave him calpol as he very nearly has all 4 canines through to the point where I can stop worrying about them iyswim?
He was still awake at 2.30am - his antics appeared a little different, he was definitely less energetic and much quieter but still not asleep.
DH then woke him this morning flushing the bl**dy toilet!  However that was 7am!
So 12.75hrs probably less 1 - 1.5hrs so around 11.5hrs ish
He definitely would've slept longer this morning if we were able to leave him to.

So today...
I do believe he probably needs a 30min nap but I don't know when to do it.  The obvious place os the school run at 2.45pm but I quite like your suggestion Lucy of an early nap...

WWYD?  I def feel I have to give this little/no nap a shot for a good few days and see what happens.

This sounds like progress  :) :) :)

WWYD?

My only helpful piece of advice would be to stop flushing your toilet at night/mornings  ;) :-*!!

We don't flush in the middle of the night or during nap time!!  Just at bedtime and first thing!!  We're  looking to move soon so am hoping DS bedroom will NOT be next to the bathroom!

Laura, that is great that you are making progress! I was going to say a later nap.  But I don't know why.  Maybe so he will make it until a decent bedtime?

I too feel later nap, something after lunch and during that afternoon lul?  Don't know but I feel an early nap will be counterproductive somehow.

I'm at work today and so my mum is making that decision - I think she is going to see how he goes and let him fall asleep on school run - well that was the last thing I heard anyway, gotta play it a bit by ear I guess.
Thanks for your input girls.

He had a 20min nap in the car at 2.55pm.  He was asleep by 6.30pm.  He was cranky this evening and a bit naughty - this is something I am not used to dealing with - he only is naughty if tired. :(

Keep everything crossed for tonight.

Thanks
