night feedings and the four hour e.a.s.y schedual
« on: February 20, 2010, 01:50:38 am »
My daughter is 18 weeks old and we just recently went to the four hour schedual. I feed her at 8:00pm then a dream feed at 10 or 10:30 she has been waking at between 4 and 5 to feed then sleeping till 7:30am or 8:00am when I then feed again to start the day. Shoud I be feeding her at the 5:00am time or should she be able to sleep through till morning? If I do feed her at 5am when should I ween her from those feeds, at 7 months when I ween from the dream feed or wait untill she stops herself?

They usually drop the night feeds themselves when they are able. You didn't say whether you breast or bottle feed - but this pattern is certainly very normal for a BF baby until solids are well established.

I would go with the flow as long as the 5am feed isn't upsetting her morning feed and morning nap.
