Is this habitual waking?
« on: February 20, 2010, 14:52:14 pm »
My LO is 9 weeks today and I have been doing EASY for a month or so now.  She has always gotten up twice at night and I decided to keep track of it this week to see if it was habitual waking or normal for a 9 week old.  Here is the last few days.  What do you think?

She is formula fed and her normal feed amount is 4.0 oz.

Day 1: Woke up at 2-3.5 oz, woke up at 5-I did not feed her becuase it was so close to her 7 feeding, woke up at 6:30- stayed up
Day 2: Woke up a 1-3.5 oz, woke up at 4:30-3.5 oz, woke up at 6:30-stayed up
Day 3: Woke up at 1-3.5 oz, woke up at 4:30-3.5 oz, woke up at 7-stayed up
Day 4: Woke up at 2-4.0 oz, woke up at 4:30-2.0 oz, woke up at 7-stayed up
Day 5: Woke up at 2-2.0 oz, woke up at 5:30-I did not feed her becuase it was so close to her 7 feeding, woke up at 7-stayed up.
Day 6: Woke up at 1-3.5 oz, woke up at 5-3.0 oz, woke up at 7-stayed up

Please let me know what you think!  Thanks.

She never took to a dreamfeed. I have tried several times, and every time it wakes he up too much and we throw the entire night off.  I go back to work in three weeks, so I just hope some of this works itself out before then!

I think I read somewhere that habitual wakings don't usually happen around 5 months. Another book told me 9. My DD is 4 months old and she wakes up around the same time each night for feeding. She truly seems hungry. I think it's really difficult to determine this but I know that they have 2 night wakings when sleep is interrupted, usually around 2 and 5 am. Then they drop the 2 am and the 5 AM can become a real problem...but I don't know what age that is. Anyone?
