Fingers crossed for a good night.

How very odd!  How did she wake at 4am - was she happy?  Do you think the nap had something to do with it?  However, I know if I have a big dinner or a late dinner I always wake up really hungry - not sure how that figures!!

We had a weird night!  DS asleep around 7.10pm.  I couldn't get to sleep and so slept heavily when I did so didn't hear him till 5.15am (but he'd been awake a while - probably his usual hour or more) he did go back to sleep at some point till 8am!  So I've screwed up our day by letting him sleep in!

What have you decided to do today with sleep?

Hi Laura, we have just gone with the flow today and she has managed to get through the day with no nap with bt at 6.15-6.30 so we shall see.  Maya seemed ok at 4am but i certainly was not so we stuck it out til later b4 getting up, not sure what 2morrow will bring, wish i could see a pattern emerging !!!! good luck for tonight.xxx

last couple of days been quite good no naps, bt 6.30 wake 5.30 had a very whiney child though!!!! yesterday she took a 15 min nap and i struggled to wake her , bt was at 6.30 and she woke at 5am!!!! so i guess the nap is interfering with nt sleep, it also seems nap falls ecery 3 days or there abouts so i think on these days bt will have to be slightly later and see if it makes a diff.  Little bit anxiuos about the wkend, we have a party on fri night and i would be quite happy to get a babysitter but hubby wont hear of it and i am so stressed over it, i fele like i have come such a long way and finally got a "routine" and it could be totally messed up!!! clocks go forward sat too so i was hoping we could continue with this same routine and maybe, just maybe we could get a 7.30-6.30 day now she is likely to be ot and out of snyc, boo hoo!

Hi hun

Things do sort of seem to be working...  I had a thought, if you have to take her with you to the party, then do a nap on that day.  That'll give you chance to do a later bed although if it was me I'd put my foot down and say I wanted a babysitter!! ;)  Your DH must know how tough things have been and that you could really use the clocks going forward to your advantage.  I'm also wondering if while she is transitioning with no nap if she needs an earlier bedtime - like 6pm.... then at least she's getting 11.5hrs if she's waking at 5.30am iyswim?

Well we managed a 6.15 bt yesterday with no nap and got 5.15 wake up.  I wish i could get a babysitter for fri but i know that is one arguement i will not win!!!! we the only thing we ever argue about is mayas sleep and the only reason i get away with such early bt is because he does not come home til after 8pm otherwise i would get alot of resistance there too, he thinks i am crazy so i am just going to have to deal with it, i even said he could go on his own as i know i wont enjoy it anyway.

I hope you manage to come to some sort of compromise about the party.

How are you feeling the no nap is going?  Do you think you are "winning" or not.  It seems 11hr nights is what she does.  So we just need to get a 7.30pm bedtime then?  I guess you could do a nap one day and then an 8.30pm bed and hopefully get a 6.30am wake up...  just a thought. ;)

I would much prefer to ditch the nap, but not sure how.  Maya starts afternoons at nursery after easter so we need to get rid really that said just picked her up from nursery this morning and she has fell asleep after a lengthy winge and tantrum at 12pm!!!  as much as I would love a later start, dont really want to do a 8.30 bt tbh, I love my evenings to myself now, and actually love it when she does 6.30-5.30!!! as i have a little bit of time for me, if we could do 7pm-6am that would prob be better but 8.30 too late.  I wonder if she takes 30 min nap if 7.30 bt might work, a bit frightened to try things now as at least i know where we stand on a 6.30-5.30 schedule.x
