keeping breastpads on at night
« on: March 11, 2010, 09:56:19 am »
Hiya,
Just wanted to see if anyone has the same problem and could give some ideas on how to deal with it...
I've been working on getting DS to sleep for longer periods at night which means my breasts are getting full and leaky. I've put breastpads on but it seems that they stick well to the bra but the breats move about, especially if I lie on my side. So I'm waking up soaked... ::)
 Suggestions would be most welcome!!!!

This happened to me OH SO MUCH, till about 8 months when I had no more night feeds. I used the Lansinoh pads, they have sticky backs and water proof backs so my bra would not get soaked, which worked MOST of the time.

Also, sometimes I would pump ever so slightly in the middle of the night, just to relieve pressure, this also helped with leakiness.

Was going to suggest the same thing - I used washable, reusable pads during the day, but at night I used disposable pads with sticky backs so they stayed in place most of the time through the night :)

my problem is not that the pads move, it's the breasts that move almost to the edge of the bra... Maybe it's because I've big breasts.

have you tried a sports bra? More compression to prevent leakage and more coverage.

Thats a good idea! Might even be able to put a folded cloth across... Never thought of it. Thanks.
