2 year old won't eat meat or fish

Hi,

My son is 2 years and 3 months old.

We are still experiencing problems getting him to eat meat or fish.  When he started eating solids he did try fish and chicken but has been refusing it for a while now.

I have tried disguising it in food but he can always find the tiniest of bits.

I don't offer anything else as I have been told they won't go hungry but this has been going on for months and he still refuses it.  He might try a bit but most occasions he just leaves it on the plate and eats anything else on plate.

He will eat Pasta, Pizza, Noodles, Soup.  Lunch is usually Crackers, Sandwich, Soup, Cheese.

He has been known to eat meat or fish at nursery but not all the time it is served.

I keep trying hoping one day he will surprise me.  We have no other issues with this eating.  He does have a healthy appetite.  Vegetables he mostly eats sweetcorn, corn on the cob, raw carrot but refuses others unless in soup.  Fruit he loves.

Does anyone else have the same problems or any advice?

Same issues here - I just make sure he gets his iron and protein form other sources, and keep putting it in front of him when it is served. Rather than that he won't eat it, my main focus here is on teaching him polite ways to say that he doesn't want it, rather than throwing it

I would just keep offering and not limit his other foods.  As long as he is getting his nutrients in other ways, it's not a concern.  Will he eat beans or tofu?

I have never tried him with tofu but he won't eat beans.  I have tried quorn but again he won't try it.

What about eggs? They're another good source of protein, have some iron too. Otherwise would he eat a chicken broth based soup? Lentils or hommous?
