I know. I feel at the moment I am pushing through a lot of the time and kinda ignoring cues which I have spent all his life up to now trying to not do. Do you get what I mean???

He must be trying to make up for his behaviour this morning!

I rarely go purely on cues anymore.  So unreliable.  He's much better with the clock.  Waketime, naptime, bedtime.  If those 3 are reasonably set I find our day goes reasonably.

I personally would not wake.  Sometimes these LO's self-regulate and if he's going beyond his normal naptime there's a reason :-)

Just saw your post Wendys. I woke him - probably crazy and I feel bit bad now but I also know 13 hours in 24 is his max and so trying to keep an 11 hour night if poss. Thinking bedtime 7pm - does that sound ok?

I was just kidding by the way - you just have to go with your instinct  :)

For sure, if you know he has a certain limit in a 24 then you have to do what you have to do.  I am still trying to figure that out for Finn lol, I figure sometime in the next 5 years I might be able to work it out.

Good going Henry though, see he does have it in him!  What did your day look like then?

Hey that's brilliant!!  I knew he could do it.

What were his nap times then?  I think 7pm sounds reasonable, but given this is so unusual....

A - 6.15am
S - 11.55-2pm
S - 7pm?

I was too scared to try for more nap - I don't want to be up from 5am with him!!!

Go for 7pm that's 5hrs if it takes him a little while - so be it.

Good Luck!

Agree with Laura again.  I'd aim for 7 and see what happens.  Way to go on the long nap!!!

Yep 7 looks good to me.  Even if you get 11 hours you are right where you started today really.  IMHO it's the perfect 1 nap trial day.

bed at 7 and awake today 5.40am although he stayed in his cot until 6.15am.
Was hoping for more but hey - even with a perfect day we still have issues. I think I need to start logging his sleep again to see if I can work out what is going on. The best night we had this week was on a 2 nap day but the best nap was the one nap day. Not sure what to do today. Don't think he will make it to 5.45 A  - we have had a few yawns already. Maybe teeth ARE playing a part. Who knows.....
I have a feeling you girls will probably think I should stick with one nap today - I think I will have to see how he goes and how tired he is.

Great that you didn't have to get up at 5.40am

You choose naps....  I would say one though ;)
