On a 1:45 pm wakeup, I normally do 6:15 or 6:30, but my LO is always up at 5:00 or 5:30 these days.  I find his PM A time doesn't change that much even if the nap is good.  But 7:00 bedtime sounds good - maybe be ready for 6:30 or 6:45 if he looks knackered, just in case.

I'd go for 5 hours from when he wakes too, for us when we did the 2-1 the nap was 12-2 with a 7pm bedtime. Sounds like it's a successful 1 nap day!  :) :)

something seems to have set in him for pretty much an 11 hour night which was not the case before his illness. I want him to have one nap as it is more restorative for him and just feels right but I am worried about trying for a nap much earlier than 12pm as the afternoons are then so long. I just don't think a bedtime tooo early will work for us. Uggh - this is really tough, I am stuck. Thanks for any help...

on the plus side, he spent 15 mins in his bed this am with no crying...which is good for us!
Think I will have to do 2 naps.....???

I have been pushing through to one nap even with our stupid EWs.  I did two yesterday because he was sick and it just doesn't work well anymore.

You could try to stretch him until 12:00 and see how he goes?  I have been doing more like 11:30, but that is with a 5:00 wake.

Hi Becky, because it is 5.45am, rather than 5 or 5.15, I would be tempted to still give him one nap - perhaps you could just add 10 mins to this morning's A time, and then 10 mins to this afternoon's and then you've effectively caught up but without it being too much different to yesterday??

thanks.
12pm seems a long A time. I think he could totally handle it but it is just whether I get a good nap out of it. If I put him down 10 mins later than yesterday that would be 11.25am which is just so early for my little guy. what to do???? I really don't know today.

ok what I think is this...we will be out in the car at around 10am today as we are going to visit a nursery. If he sleeps then it will be a 2 nap day and if not then I will do one around  12pm ish I think. It is a long am A but I think I am going to have to set naptime anyway as we have been playing A time games for so long and at least if he has a nap of 12pm and a bedtime 5 hours after he wakes from the nap sooner or later it will set a clock for him....maybe?

11 hrs is what we gt stuck with from this age Becky, and a 1.5 nap.To get a better wake up once you have your routine set and established you will just have to push bedtime by 15 mins v.slowly.it may take a bit but you will get there.

FWIW,set naps were so much better for us.
