Bath time
« on: March 26, 2010, 09:26:48 am »
Hi,

Is it a good idea to bath baby twice a day?

My LO is a 7 week old spirited baby. I usually bath him before bed-time, and he goes straight down to sleep chilled out. This morning, I had to bath him (messy nappy change) and he settled straight away for his morning nap- which usually he resists. Is it a good idea to also bath him in the morning, on a regular basis? Or might this muck up his bedtime routine?

I don't think it will muck up the bedtime routine, especially if the bath is used as a wind down.  What I would be concerned with is drying out his skin.  Be sure to use moisturizer after at least one bath a day.

I do one bath a day at night and lotion or a baby message oil.
What I started to do to help my little one sleep better for naps is doing a smaller version of the night time routine.

Normally for night we do bath, new diaper, swaddle, read book, bottle bed
So for naps we do            -----new diaper, swaddle, read book, bed.

It took some time and the first day it took forever to get him to sleep (1hour 20min) but we kept at it and now he naps GREAT
Just stick with it
sometimes he talks to himself for ever but he does fall asleep and now he sleeps 40min - 2 hours depending on the day.  Hes a busy boy!  Good Luck
