Doesn't sound like a GS to me... sounds a bit more like OT or UT?  How have her naps been during the day?

The past few nights, my LO has woken up about 45-50 min after going down for bed, but I typically don't have to go in to resettle her.  Sunday night was bad - she was seriously OT and I did have to do PU/PD to get her back to sleep, but last night she just talked for a few minutes then went back to bed.

So... I think we're having an anti-GS here?  My LO REFUSED to BF for the DF last night - first time this has happened in about 2.5 months?  She didn't eat any differently prior to bed, so I doubt she was too full... maybe it's just a sign that she's getting close to dropping the DF.  I wouldn't mind being done with the DF... but I was SOOOO engorged this morning b/c she didn't BF like normal.   :P

I think those A times are still a bit too short for her age.  I'd aim to get them all to at least 2hr 10/15 but no longer if you don't think she is handling more than 2hr15.  And see how that goes.  Otherwise you're going to get stuck in an OT/UT loop.  UT for first too naps leading to OT by bedtime.

How long have the naps been with the extended A times?

I wouldn't say its GS related if she's not eating more.

Tarakay...did she still sleep through without the DF?

Yes.. she did STTN w/o the DF.  She talked a little around 5:45 am... but went back to sleep until 7:10.  I thought FOR SURE she would be up looking for food between 2-5 am last night, but nope. :)

I'm going to try the DF again tonight like normal, but if she refuses too many more times than I'll probably just quit doing it?  I thought you were supposed to wait until 7-8 mos before dropping the DF (once solids are more established)?  She's eating solids, but she doesn't get much - maybe 2-3 oz a day max.

They always keep us guessing, don't they? ;)

Not sure if you were speaking to me Shiv...but we are doing about 2 hr 15 minutes of A time right now, and naps are fine--they are about 1.5-2 hours in length. I find if any shorter she has a hard time making it the 2hr15 min to the next nap.
Im going to shorten her cat nap this evening too...maybe 25 minutes instead of 40???

Tarkay-My first son dropped the DF around 9 months old, and he was taking about 8 ounces at a feed. Also, she is not really taking more--she eats about 5-6 ounces at each feed, and solids in the am, and after cat nap....

A little update: So, DD has had 2 ok nights---last night she woke at 3, but I resettled without a problem---but then she woke @ 6AM! Yesterday was a bit messy with her naps though, because we  had her needles and she ended up having a short morning nap, so it created a bit of a vicious cycle! Even though she woke up 6am, I didn't get her our of her bed till 6:40am.
We shall see how today goes...
Tarkay, how arethings?

Let's see - Monday was shots and DF refusal, but STTN.

Tuesday she pooped 5 times (yikes) and didn't want to eat her solids.  She took the DF, but woke SCREAMING at 2:00 am.  I ended up feeding her because she wasn't settling down - very unlike her?

Wednesday - no poo, still not excited about solids.  Took the DF and STTN (yay!).

So far today (Thursday) - she hasn't been excited about solids again - no poo yet either. ;)

I'm not sure what her deal is?  I've not been forcing the food issue - she's still nursing fine so I'm not too worried.  Our naps have been all over the place, and I cannot decide if the short ones are OT or UT?  She typically wakes up happy (blowing razzberries, etc), but quickly dissolves into screaming if left in her crib for too long.  I usually try PU/PD for about 30 min, and if that doesn't put her back to sleep then I just get her up and assume she was UT?  It's so hard to know?  Lately I haven't had much success using PU/PD - probably b/c she's UT, strong willed, and doesn't want to go back to sleep!?  She's almost always happy once up though, so I just try to roll with it.

Oh... and the past couple of nights, she's been waking about 45 min after going down to bed (goes to bed easily) - but wakes SCREAMING after 45 min.  We've had to do PU/PD to get her back to bed... but then she sleeps until morning.  I'm guessing this might be a sign of OT?  Not sure.

I know, it's hard to know the driving force behind night wakings...or early wakings lol...takes a  lot of tweaking to get it right--if that even happens!
My DD loves solids...and thankfully she has no problem w BM's since she's started--it was before them that she had issues!!!
I think she is teething again though, shes waking up at 3-4 am, not being able to resettle...and she was really chewing on her fingers...which is not usually like her to do (and she "bit" me yesterday too--OW!)
I hope it is only teething, and not something else!
Oh, and on a side note--she didn't have a catnap yesterday--just a few minutes alone in her crib....I guess thats a result of increased A time..making her nap a bit later....
trial and error................................:)

Hey Sarah-
How did your weekend go?  DD has been surprisingly good the past few days - decent naps and no NW's.  She was up early (6:15/6:30) this weekend... but she was also SOAKED through, so it's hard to say what the true cause was?  This am she got up at 7:20.

We had a house full of people this weekend and DD did awesome?!  I was really worried about OS and OT, but she did great - had good naps and good nights.  Maybe it's a sign that things are turning around? ;)

Take care- Tara

Hey Tarakay--didn't see this till now!!! Weird!!!
How are things?
My DD has mostly stopped the nightwakings...if she has one its only one that night, and she goes right back to sleep after I go in, or sometimes without me going in.
She is still getting up early though--more near 6am now--driving me crazy!!!
She has been having good naps 1.5-2 hrs long---but I find she has a really hard time getting to bed time without the cat nap.....I'm afraid if I do notlet her have it she will be overtired, and then have nightwakings on a regular basis......
what to do.....

That is weird...

Things have been going OK.  Overall, DD is a happy kid, which is good!  Our AM naps have been pretty good for the past week - consistently 1-1.5 hours (good for her), but PM naps have all been 30-40 min.  I've been playing with A times a lot trying to figure out one that yields good PM naps but haven't had much success.  She rarely seems tired for her PM nap, but if I allow her to go to the point of ACTING tired then I get an OT nap.  So hard to know... LizJ has been offering me some advice on what to tweak.

Nights have been good - no issues there as long as she isn't OT at BT (which hasn't been a problem unless we try to skip the CN)..... but BT has been pushed a bit later (7:30/8:00ish instead of 6:30/7:00ish) due to the extended A times and not dropping the CN yet.  If she could do 2 good naps of 1.5 hrs, then I think we could skip the CN... but no such luck there yet!

As for you... it sounds like your LO might be close to dropping the CN (hence the EW)?  Could you try dropping the CN and going for an early BT?  Just an idea.  :)

I could drop the catnap...and do an earlier bed time..I guess I'm always afraid of an even earlier waking?!
She woke @550 am and then wouldn't go down till 10am! I tried 2x for long periods of time to get her down, but nope!! She was super upset for even trying!!! So She went  down @ 10, and is still sleeping......go figure! It's alll a bit of a mess right now!!!
As for your LO, I'm glad her AM naps are improving...it's not easy to master those sometimes!!! Just when things get good, they change again!!! Nice that LizJ is helping......
I might post my easy to see if someone can help me a bit more......
must go! ttys
