semolina pasta?
« on: April 25, 2010, 20:24:25 pm »
Hey, has anyone had an LO who has reacted to this?

Ds had some tricolour pasta for the first time today and had a mild reaction. It also had tuna in it and I'm unsure which he could have been reacting too.

He has a confirmed allergy to milk and I was wondering if something could have had milk in it but when I checked there was nothing. The hives had gone within a minute so very mild but unsure what it could be.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there.

Was that his first (or second) time having either the tuna or the pasta?  Were there any new spices in there (mustard, pepper, etc) He could definitely have had a reaction to either.  They are both pretty common allergens.

What you could do is wait a week or so and then trial a little bit of plain pasta, or plain tuna and see if there is a reaction.  I would make sure to have some benadryl on hand though as a second reaction is usually more intense.

HTH!
