Ok, messedup today.
She woke at 5.50, so I put her down for first nap at 9.05 (3 hrs 10 Atime) and she slept nicely for 1 hr 45 mins.
Put her down after A time 3hrs 20 mins (should have been alseep by 15, but was 20) and she woke weirdly after 50 mins, but was crying and tired for the rest of the day. When I did her wind-down she started to cry and when I put her in the cot so hat to pat her and shhh her a bit before she was mantra'ing.
Soooo, can five mins really make or break a nap?
I should have done w2s but thought as she'd done one sleep cycle I didn't need to...should have done it.

Do you go in at 30 min mark or 35 min mark?
Also think her bedtime of 6.30ish was too late too.

Thanks

Depends on the LO! What's her temperment?

There's no real solid answer to that. 30 minutes is a good place to start though, but if you don't get results after several days, then adjust the timing.

Ok, she had another poor afternoon nap of 45mins at 3hrs 15 A time. 3hrs 25 the other day got an OT nap I think.
She's gone from 2.30pm until 6pm without sleep and a short nap. So we will have an OT baby again. Morning naps with A time of 3hrs 10 are fine, but she's still EW at anywhere between 5.40ish and 6am.

She had a fitful nights sleep last night, but did make it until 6am. Have a feeling tonight will be rough on us both.

She's a spirited baby.

Also, don't think the w2s works on her, thought it did, but she just woke at 45 mins anyway, and still stirred at 30 and 35 mins. Sigh.

Finding this quite tricky, though am trying hard not to stress about it. DH is putting her to bed now and I can hear the tears.

I can tell you from experience that everything is more interesting with a spirited ;)  We found that a very short winddown and following the clock more than cues (that didn't exist for us) gave us good results.
