Oh that sounds bad. :( I'm so sorry!! Well since this is your 2nd lo you do know it gets better.

I know what you mean about having such a sensitive and touchy teether. Its so rough on these LO's. Its a true nightmare!!!! A nightmare in OT hell!!!!!!

Good luck!! I always give motrin and orajel at night times. Then homeopathic meds during the day.

I had medicating but it seems my lo needs it. It just has been a few weeks and I'm feeling guilty about giving meds for so long. :(

Poor you - teething sucks. Medicate before naps and see - you may have to do a bit of AP  if it is really bothering him xxx

Yeah, not sure if this is an option for you, but I always drive my LO around for her CN and then do the PM nap in her crib and she usually settles fine.  There can't really be any wiggle room or the chance that she doesn't go for the CN due to either UT or OT, because then our day turns out like the one you just had and it's sometimes hard to get out of.

I do the same as Katie on those days although DS just will not go in his cot for 2 naps full stop so it is AP all round but it is worth it when things get tough to get back on track...hopefully!

Well, we did do the two nap thing yesterday, but he did not do so well.  It looked like this:

woke sometime around 6, that's when I happened to wake
nap 10:20-10:35
nap 1:20-2:10!! Yikes, was hoping for longer!
bedtime 7:20  Super OT from yesterday and this schmozzle of a day.

He was awake this morning when I happened to come out of sleep at 5:45 am.  I changed his diaper and prayed he would go back to sleep.  He FINALLY nodded off at 7 until I went to get him at 7:40.  I don't know if I should've left him, but I had to get DS#1 up soon anyway, so I figured I would try to keep things somewhat normal for DS#2 with a little bit of a later wake-up.  He was super cranky during lunch and I raced to get him down.  He was out at 12:15 and slept an hour and a half and dozed another 15 min.  Again, really cranky through the supper hour and into the bath time.  Asleep by 7:10.  I'm crossing my fingers that he has a loooong night.  I'm definitely going to keep with the shorter A times until we're through this mess and I think one nap if we can manage it.  As long as I'm not putting him down too late, he seems to nap better and get a more restorative sleep with the one nap lately.  I'm praying that an ear infection doesn't pop up again with all this teething. We just had a brutal round of it two months ago...

The only reason I do 2 naps is because if my LO is really passed her sleep window, she'll still only do 30 min for that one nap and that is worse than anything for me.  If I could get away with the earlier one nap, I'd do it too, but for some weird reason, the 2 seem to be better for her right now.  So, I guess it's just a matter of finding what works best for you!  Good luck!

Things got slightly better today, but I think it's from all the fresh air we've been getting here.  Two hour nap.  I think that was because his night was a little shorter than expected and he was making up for his lost sleep during nap time.  That's A-okay with me!
He's just really losing it with these teeth, though.  We had another toddler meltdown today from about 5-5:45 he was thrashing around, trying to slap me, and screaming.  He was hollering the house down through dinner and when I had tried everything to placate him in terms of offering food, I just leaned over and gave him a hug and he gripped my shirt like the world was ending.  Poor baby. I'm really just trying to keep my patience, but he had better be cutting all of his eye teeth at once for all the craziness that he's been going through lately!!

Oh I know what you mean!!!!! I feel the same way and I only see 2 eye teething coming in right now. For all the drama I wish all 4 were popping through!!!!! Just to think she has to go through this again for the bottom two! I CAN"T wait till these teeth are done! I'm about to lose it and I think she is as well!

Congrats on your two hour nap!!!!!! That's exciting. Maybe he'll keep it up!!!!!!! Fingers crossed. ;)

My lo went to bed for a nap yesterday at 4pm and never woke up till 7:30am! She's beyond ot we are having a rotten time of it! :(
