if your lo is younger than 6 months then you need to boil them all. if he is older than you can give them fresh , peeled and finely grated. as for the berries, it depends what ur dr recommends, some say better not give them before lo is 1 yr old some say it s no issue. I prefer boiling them before giving them to lo.

Just curious as to where you heard this? I am in the UK and went to a weaning class with my health visitor before I weaned DD (which I did at 5m in the hope she would bf less :P) and we were never told anything of the sort, just to be careful with the general hygiene, i.e. washing fruit. And I sterilised bowls/utensils til DD was around 8m (by which point she was picking things off the floor and eating them  ::)) Seems other places in the world have far more detailed guidelines...

I actually read that in the weaning book of GF :) but as you said, different countries do it in different ways :)
