Premie Age
« on: June 01, 2010, 05:06:21 am »
My wife and I are new to the forum, we have new born twins that were born at 26 weeks.  After 3 months in the NICU we got them both home about 2 weeks ago.  Reading through a number of posts I now see that my frustrations (which are much worse than my wife's, bless her) are perfectly in-line with a number of yours.  A question/concern that I have though is my LOs are technically 3 and a half months old, however their actual due date was just this past Thursday.  I'm not real sure where they fit in with the EASY method, should I treat them like 3 month olds, or 3 week olds?  I've read a lot of posts tonight, but it's now 1:00 am and time to wake them for their next feed.  Thank you in advance.

I think that the general advice is to treat them as their corrected age, so 3 weeks for your LOs. Is there a pattern in their feeding at the moment? Are they going 2 or 3 hrs between feeds?

3 weeks it is, that means I'm not as far behind as I was afraid.  We go every two and a half to three hours with their feeds, maybe a little longer for their overnight feeds, three and a half to four, if they are sleeping well and not stirring.
-Thanks
