Help with EASY for 10mths
« on: June 02, 2010, 17:21:23 pm »
Hello,
I have been doing easy since day 1 and just recently am starting to get confused as to what I should be doing! I have looked at the sample routines and have some questions...
1. When do you give them bottles? Is it o.k to keep giving bottle 1st before meals?? My lo still takes 3 bottles and milk in a sippy after 2nd nap.
2. What is normal A time for around this age? My lo can do anywhere from 3.5-4+ A. I have been having trouble with naps and a slight EW.
Our EAS is as follows, anyone see anything I could fix?? It varies day by day depending on night sleep and wake times!

7am wake - 6oz
8am breakfast
1030 - nap
1130 wake - 6oz
1230 Lunch
330 nap
430 wake 4oz in sippy
530-6 supper
Bath and in bed by 7.

 Up today at 6am.
Nap at 10 and i will wake at 1130

We are only going to bed at 7 as he isn't napping well and is getting ot. I know its getting to be time to do the 2-1 but sleep has been off this week so if he will nap I let him! The EW of 6 would be much better if it was 7!!! :) Up until this week bed is usually 8 and he sleeps until 630-7. I think I need to tweak just not sure how or where!! Look for and open to all suggestions!

I think you're right that it's the beginning of the 2 to 1 switch.  Have you checked out this:  http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=95670.0?  There's some good tips in there about 2 different ways to adjust your EASY to accomodate the switch.

I don't know why I didn't see this one before! I will definitly be using this advice! He's just so all over the place lately! I think OT has snuck in and I'll have to deal with that first.

Still curious about the feeding rountines....anyone want to share theirs??

until my dd was a year, she always had milk before meals.  Even now (at 3), she has morning milk when she first gets up, breakfast about an hour later, and milk with lunch, then milk when she wakes from her nap.  So at 10 mos, I was still doing milk before meals.

I think it depends on the LO too, some LO's fill up on milk and don't eat much solids, we ran into this so we switched it up at 9 mths and his solids eating vastly improved.  We thought he just wasn't interested in the food but in fact he just wasn't hungry.  And some LO's are big eaters and can do milk and then say 'bring on the meal'.  Finn never liked to have his milk first thing upon waking, even now he's not keen on eating just after getting up but we have no choice with daycare restrictions.  He went off the morning bottle easily because he was never really in love with it anyway.

At 10 mths we were like:
Bfast then bottle
Snack
AM nap
Lunch then bottle
PM nap
Snack & bottle after PM nap
Dinner
Bedtime bottle

We offered a sippy with water at all meals and snacks.

You need to find what works for your LO :-)
The tweaking never stops!
