Baby Massage
« on: June 08, 2010, 15:04:01 pm »
Hi ladies  :).

I did this with J and it helped his windy tummy (and helped a lot of settling issues) plus he LOVED it and so did I  ;D.

I remember you can't do a baby massage course until baby is 6 weeks but does anyone know whether there is a safety reason for this or not? Or just people wanting Mummy and Baby past the post partum period?

Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong place Rachel - I couldn't decide where it belonged  ::).

We started massage very early... Tracy outlined massage on pages 161-166 of Secrets of the BW.

Will leave it here Liz, only other place I can think is Health and Medical, in case there is a reason not to start before 6 weeks.  All I know is we did it earlier than 6 weeks....  :-*

Proud to have breastfed for a combined total of 35 months

I've been doing it since she was 2 weeks. I don't think it is contraindicated for tiny ones. I've never seen a warning about it in a text book either.
