Daycare Lunch - if you don't have leftovers, what are some good ideas for the "main part" of a packed lunch?
I just finished off the frozen toddler meals I had (a mix of beef stew, chicken stew, and soup frozen in muffin tins).
First day without the frozen meal, all I could come up with was a peanut butter and jam sandwich, which didn't go over that well.
Any suggestions?

Suffering from bug here yesterday so all he ate was 1/2 slice of toast and a pack of organix snacks that he asked for.  Oh, and a pringle. ::)

Today he seems to be feeling quite a lot better and he actually wanted his milk this am, and some breakfast.  I had it last night and DH is in the throes of it now so I'm hoping it's just a 24 hour bug!

Hi all - been MIA for a while. Hope you and all your LOs are well - and eating well too of course  ;)

Thought I'd squeeze in a post before we go past page 30 and blow up the internet LOL!!

B: 2 slices of toast (DD's choice - bit of a shocker as she always says 'cereal' when asked!), one slice with jam, one with ginger honey, OJ
S: yoghurt covered fruit flakes, water - taster of pork pie at farmers' market
L: ham, cheese & mayo tortilla wrap, few crisps, piece of mango & ginger wensleydale cheese, blueberries, piece of licorice, water
S: frozen innocent smoothie 'tube', juice
D: (after a bit of messing around  ::)) swiss chard gratin, garlic runner beans, yoghurt, gingerbread man, water

Ooo la la! As a Dutch girl, I am very interested in this!

Nathan ate a ton again today, but went back to only having one 8 oz bottle of milk before bed.

B: half of a bagel spread with cream cheese, with cherry jam for dipping
S: A bunch of Toddler Graduate 'Lil Crunchies' (those puff stick thingies)
L: cucumber, mini Mini Wheats, roasted chicken, and blueberries, with yogurt for dipping
S: almost an entire apple, and raisins
D: 1.5 pieces of toast with chicken bits, salami, and onions sprinkled over melted cheese, and fresh blueberries

Yesterday we had a BBQ so it was a busy day:

B: Shreddies, yogurt, toast, eggs DH-style
S: cereal bar
L: PB & Marmite sandwich, Goldfish crackers
S: whole wheat pita crisps
D: Hamburger, chicken kebobs, Greek pasta salad, sorbet ice cream cone, strawberries

In reality, he's a great eater.  He usually eats at daycare no problem, and he will at least try most things we give him at home.  And quantity-wise he's a big eater IMHO.  The remnants of reflux are long gone.

There was a 2.25 year old here yesterday who doesn't eat anything.  And I mean he has been in daycare for about 6 mths and has not eaten a meal there yet.  He's not in full-day or anything but they do lunch I think and he hasn't ever touched it.  He will only eat a very small variety of foods, he would just rather not eat.  If they leave him, he won't eat.  He has actually gone nearly 2 days without eating because doc said 'he'll eat when he's hungry' but he won't.  Everywhere they go they have to take something he might eat.  Last night at our BBQ he refused all foods including fruit and ate some yogurt.
The tweaking never stops!

Wow, Wendy, that would be so frustrating. I would be in a state of constant worry, ya know? Always trying to shove some calories into the kid.

Nathan is a great eater as well, and I am grateful. We give him some pretty strange things, and he will always at least try it (and will usually then eat it).
