when do you just drop to the bedtime milk? the past three days Caleb has only had about 3oz of his morning milk, doesnt want it, hes dairy intolerant so cant use cheese, yoghurt etc to top up the calcium so if hes needing to have the two milks a day how do i get it into him?

Yeah.  Fruit can be fresh or frozen.  Soy milk, fruit, maybe a touch of honey for sweetness
Can he tolerate soy yoghurt or soy icecream?  You could also add them.

Another idea would be to flavour his morning milk too.  I can get a full 250mL of chocolate milk into my boys, but getting that much white milk in is painfully slow.  If you buy 'add your own' stuff you can control the amount of sugar etc that gets added too.

in fact he drank the whole cup and wanted more, i gave it to him and he drank another cup!!! that should keep him full till dinner! its just a shame you cant keep it, i have to throw the rest out or drink it all myself

Good idea on the golden syrup Jo! ;)  I'd have never thought of that one.

At this age I would not be offering morning and evening milk - I would be offering milk through the day as a drink.  If you are offering it only in the morning and evening, it is rather large volumes (prob 6 ounces? as he needs 12 perday) which is a "meal" not a drink. And milk stops being a meal at one year old and becomes something we drink through the day.  So I would give him a few ounces in the morning if that is what he wants, and then a few ounces with a snack or lunch and again at afternoon snack and then a few with dinner and/or bed.  3 ounces offered 4x per day is great for his age.
