So, it sounds like the behavior change is mostly sleep related, rather than other times, too.  I hope grandpa's visit gives a good distraction, and changes up the routine a bit in a positive way.  As Brenda said, I think you want her falling asleep on her own, but fine to have a pleasant wind down with you and/or dh.

It sounds like she is in a bgb?  Any changes with that routine?  H really needs to be wrapped to sleep well; anything in her typical sleeping arrangement change in the past few weeks?

Otherwise, just hang in there and enjoy family time; you will likely be busy.  :-)  Enjoy the time you have together.

Do you read stories in her bed? That way you could already be laying with her, then you could say "oh I just need to put a load of washing on, I'll be right back".  leave and come back before she gets sick of waiting for you.  Then go to the toilet, then start the dishwasher, then put the jug on, etc etc.  That is what I did with Hugh when I weaned him from being fed to sleep at 21 months.  if he isn't tired, I still go back to give him another kiss and a cuddle every 10 mins or so.

YEAY!!  She can do it, and perhaps this break in routine and adjustment of napping/bedtime will smooth things out.  Sending oodles of hugs for it to continue.

thanks Ladies.
she and I both napped today. she didn't fall asleep til almost 2 and I woke her at 2:45pm but she just yelled at me and started crying , lol, I told her she could go back to sleep and she rolled over and did just that! yikes. so I woke her at 3:15....still not happy about it. now she's lying on papa and he's scratching her back and her eyes are only half open. steve isn't feeling good so maybe she isn't either. anyway....she'll probably be up til 9:30/10 but that's fine for tonight I guess:)
she fought going down for nap b/c I was here so i really do think I'm going to leave at bedtime each night for abouta week and see what happens,

Hey ladies...I tried to update the other day but the sight was down.
here are the last few days:
July 3 up around 6:30am went out all day. first day with NO NAP
was in bed asleep at 6pm:)
slept through til 6:30am:)

July 4th up at 6:30
1:30-2:15
didn't get to bed til 8:45 (should have been 8:15) was overtired and freaking out. I left the house.

July 5th 6:30wake
1:30-2:25pm nap
8:15 bed ( I left)
But Steve said she came out MULITPLE times and was freaking out til about 9:15:(:(
* I wonder if it was too early of a bed time for a full hour nap???? I've been doing mostly 45minish.

July 6th (today)
5am woke looking for baby bear
6:30am woke FREAKING OUT to watch TV....she was CLEARLY still tired so I said no. kept my cool, rubbed her back til she calmed down adn low and behold she slept til 7:30am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was SO HAPPY!!! SUCCESS!

we've still not had any NW (knock on wood) but bed time is still a bit of joke. I just keep leaving each night b/c if i'm not here I don't have to deal with the stress and she goes back to bed MUCH better for Steve than me:)

so that's where we're at:):)

Oh, I thought of a question.

How are you waking her, what is her behavior like when you do, and shortly after?

We just started getting the bedtime issues. Not as bad, but just not sleeping until 9 or after some nights.

UGh....so a day that great can't last I guess:(

Yesterday we had a sitter and she let her sleep from 1:30-2:30 (  I try not to let her sleep more than 45min)
I put her to bed at 8:45 and she didn't fall asleep UNTIL 10:45pm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
then woke at 3:40am (OT obviously) and was up at 7am:(:( sad.

today napped from 12-1
and still didn't fall asleep til 8:50pm!!! tha'ts 8hrs A time....so now i'm back at square one with an OT toddler...not even sure what happened???
I am not sure what to try tomorrow.

Sherry,
I just wake her and try to distract her quickly after with a snack or activity otherwise she just sits there and is grumpy.
with the exception of  1 or 2 days she is usually happy:):)

what happened? ever since our "perfect" day, it's all gone down hill!!
:(:( I give up. I feel like she's impossible to get ona  good routine:(:( and I'm SO tired!!!!!!!!!
