15 month old appetite decrease
« on: June 30, 2010, 08:04:24 am »
Eleanor is 15 months old and has always had a very good appetite. She'll eat almost anything and has quite large amounts even though she is petite. Lately though she is having smaller portions, especially at night time. Could this be due to teething? Or maybe the heat (has got quite hot here)? Should I try to insist or let her guide me?

It's totally normal for appetite to decrease after 12 mo. Teething and heat also play a role too. I wouldn't worry one bit! :)

DS is 19 months and his appetite took a huge dive a few months ago. So if it's not teething or sickness, I think it's safe to say that it's very normal. Some days DS eats a lot, other days I can't get him to eat more than a few snacks. I have to let him guide me now as to how much he wants to eat. Go with her flow for a while and see what happens. Can she sign or say words to let you know if she is hungry?
