Wow!  That is a HUGE improvement!

It does sound like tantrum behaviour as opposed to feeling abandoned behaviour so keep that in mind.  It was when DD said to me 'get me out NOW, I go play in living room' I thought eh no, you are having a laugh with me!   She wasn't cross about being put in bed, she was cross about going to bed at all!

Shiv-That is exactly it. When she is playing around in her room, happy to read books and then as soon as we venture near her crib she clings to me like a monkey and says "Back in the rocking chair! YOU SIT BACK IN...BACK IN the rocking chair!!!!" that I realized she is controlling the situation and I needed to stop that!

Charli - it def sounds like you are making progress.  Hang in there being firm.  I also agree that it sounds like tantrums, so *try* not to worry.

Thanks girls, it's really helping :)

She sttn again :) Up at 5.30am which wasn't ideal but DH's alarm was going off for ages so that probably disturbed her ::) Plus her nap wasn't great yesterday.

Going to inlaws tonight so she will prob fall asleep in the car-hoping we can transfer her over without waking her otherwise I know it's going to be really hard to not stay in the room with her if she wakes...

Thanks for asking :) Thought I would see how last night was before replying!

So Thurs night DH managed to transfer her from car to bed without much fuss, phew! She had a late night and didn't wake til gone 7 which was lovely :)

Last night was hard :( 7.45pm bt (failed 7.30 bedtime due to surprise BM :P) She was really good when DH put her down, she did shout out a bit, but then she just played! (first time ever she has happily done that in her cot alone at bedtime) We could hear her playing peekaboo! Anyway she then started rattling her cot bars *really* hard so DH ended up having to go in and tighten them up with his screwdriver ::) It couldn't be helped but of course that was a nice distraction for her so when he left she was *really* upset, not just angry-upset. So in that half an hour we went in about 4/5 times to reassure her, I didn't care if it meant she took longer to fall asleep, I didn't want to leave her sobbing. Then eventually she went quiet and fell asleep approx 8.45pm and STTN til 6am :) Again a short night but that's 4 x STTN in a row after about 2 weeks of NWs!

I'm really happy with the progress and proud of her and us for keeping it up so far :)

Was thinking of you last night and wondered how you were getting on now?  Assuming no news is good news?!

Thanks you're so sweet to ask :)

It is *generally* going well...! We haven't backed down at all, haven't laid next to her at all since we started this. Only thing is, she is still putting up a MASSIVE fuss. My kid doesn't give in easily!! Last night DH put her down at 7.30pm and she wasn't asleep til nearly 9pm, and this is typical. She does scream and shout quite a lot but she also just messes around and plays, which is fine, just that she does it for agggges!! The really good news is, so far (touching all the wood available!!) she hasn't had a NWs at all, and she has been sleeping til about 7.30am which has never happened before. Our routine looks something like this:

A 7.30am

S 12.30-2.30

Bedtime 7.30pm

S 9pm

I know it seems quite early to put her to bed at 7.30pm (given her wake up times) but she just takes so long to go to sleep, and I think it would be even worse if we left it later, I don't think she would go to sleep quicker I think she would put up the same fuss and end up going to sleep more like 10pm then I would be worried we'd be back to EWs...

Hmmmm ???
