Just did HTTJ for the last nap...I was reading more about it yesterday and decided to give it a go.
Here's what her EASY looked like:
Awake at 6:00
Bottle @ 6:30
Breakfast @ 7:45
Nap 8:15 - 9:00
Bottle @ 10:30
Nap @ 11 - 11:40
Lunch @ 12
bottle @ 3
Sleep 3:30 - 6:00 (HTTJ after first 45 minute cycle)
Dinner @ 6
Bed @ 8

I did go out for a bit yesterday to run a couple of errands and thought she'd go to sleep in her stroller but no such luck. We got back at 3.

tried HTTJ but did not work can someone please guide me to the full explanation. I caught the 30/35 min jolt and though DS2 had settled at the 45 min mark and left but he was up 5 mins later.

Am i supposed to keep patting/ holding bhim through the jolt for a very long time?

I would hold him for 5-10 minutes afterward just to be sure he's really asleep. Some babies keep jolting, I do believe, and find it harder to get through that first stage of sleep. I usually go 5 minutes past the 45-minute mark just to be sure. But my DD is over 6 months old and I see you LO is 3 months...not sure if that makes a difference. She wasn't a good sleeper at that age either!

Thanks for remembering Shiv. How did that change at 4 months when you were moving to 4 hour Easy?

As an aside Emma...have you given thought to how we're going to do this when we have two?!!!

This IS my problem!

I always went in about the 35 min mark then held through the 45 mon jolts and waited for about 10 mins after too. The time you have to this though will shorten with time and also the amount of pressure you use will lessen too.

It is a bit of trial and error, some bubs need more help than others.  :)

ok, need to know what I did wrong...maybe will start a seperate thread as I hijacking another thread...

but went in at 30mins just after DS jolted and i tried holding him thorugh it (was already holding him or rather putting some arm weight on him) managed one or 2 and then he woke up crying so AP and back to sleep.

Am i supposed to just stand buy his cot and put weight on him form about 30 min onwards to stol all possible jolts?

God, give me patience!

God, give me patience!
I've said that several times today!
What part of him are you holding? At first, I was leaning in and putting my right forearm on DD legs and using my left hand to stroke her head. Now, I usually only have to hold her legs for a couple minutes until she settles and can either stand by her crib until she falls asleep or stroke her belly/leg/head! Slowly but surely!
Hang in there! It's too bloody hot here to sleep, could that be your problem also?!

Listening in too...

Does HTTJ work for tummy-sleepers too? DD doesn't really jolt very much and even when I have held her thru, she seemed to wake up anyway. Same with W2S.

Also, do they outgrow the 45 min nap or is it something you pretty much *have* to train thru?

Thanks!

If you manage to hold through the jolts at first I would recommend staying there for another while. Remember during sh-pat in beginning? You are recommended to keep going until bub isi in a deep sleep, well this is pretty much the same...10-20 mins after the jolts I'd say.

You have to remeber also that this is a learning curve for them. Your bub doesn't know how to get back to sleep after that initial 45 mins. When learning anything new you are not going to 'get' it at first, it takes time.

You are all doing wonderfully. Its so easy for to say all this when I'm not in the midst myself. But I have been and remember it well. Lets just hope in a few months when all this a distant memory for you that you'll help me out when it happens!!!  ;)
