My dd is almost 13 months....When did you introduce a fork and spoon so that they could do it themselves (or try too?) Thanks!

Pretty much straight away for us. DS is highly independant, he always needed to have a spoon in his hand whilst I fed him with another one. Its a messy time but oh so fun to watch!

You should give utensils now, including a fork with rounded tines. We gave them to DS pretty early and although it was messy at the beginning, he's now pretty good at 2 years old and feeds himself.

We were giving them by that age as well. The more they get to practice with them the sooner they will start using them!

Same here! Dylan's had his own spoon since about 9mo or so. At first he just waved it around while he ate with his other hand
but eventually he got the idea! Started giving him his own fork around your lo's age, a gerber one with rounded tines as pp described.
