Our EASY schedule goes pretty well during the day, although our wake time varies from 6-8. We've been doing this about 2 weeks now. I'm cluster feeding at night, and sometime BF him to sleep, but not often anymore. Sometimes he eats hourly the 3 hours before bed, sometimes we can stretch it to 2 hours. He doesn't usually nap after 7, and doesn't fall asleep until 9-11 (which is fine most nights b/c we are up). Since birth he has pretty much been sleeping in 5 hour stretches at first then 3 hour stretches the rest of the night. He had 2 nights last week where he slept 7-8 hours (thank the Lord!) but since then, he's been sleeping 4 hours then waking every 1-2. He naps okay during the day, with a 1 hr-1 hr 15 min Awake time, then I either have to wake him up or he wakes after about an hour, in which case I can usually stretch it to the 3 hour mark. He goes down without any trouble during the day. He goes down good usually during the day, but fights it at night. He might be getting OT, but even when we put him down as soon as we see cues, he cries. That's getting better, though, as we work on a routine at night.
The more frequent waking has been going on for at least 3 nights now. I started back to work yesterday, but his sleeping was like this before last night. I have tries soothing him back to sleep but it never works and I end up feeding him back to sleep, which sometimes only takes 5 minutes. I guess my question is what could be causing this sudden lack of sleeping? I was really hoping putting him on this EASY routine would get a little longer stretches at night so I'm not exhausted for work. Could he be waking out of habit? I know that some times he isn't fully awake, so I try to wait, but he can't seem to soothe himself back to sleep. Sometimes we play music if he's having trouble calming down before naps and bedtime, but that hasn't seemed to work in the midle of the night. We also swaddle him, b/c he seems to get cold at night. We almost always put him down still awake, at least during the day. Night's dont seem to go as easily. Any suggestions would be so appreciated!
