Yes Alison he's teething and has been for about 3 weeks. We're going back to the Dr this morning because he's got his 5 month immunisations so will check out the dosages then, but when we saw the paed at 4 months he said there wasn't much room to go anywhere.
I know you've had it really rough with Maddie. Did sitting up help things at all?

Nope meds can't be increased. She suggested starting him on solids - I think he's probably ready or very close to it but am still a bit nervous about doing it since he just turned 5 months. Am praying that sitting up and solids are going to help though!

just thought I'd drop in our latest success that might help you - I've been giving lactease drops before a feed (before the thickener) and all his poos have gome back to yellow with no slime.  Over a week I've only spotted on tiny vit if mucus.  But the best part it is, he is completely settled now during the day.  I think the lactose in my milk was giving a degree of discomfort, he just looked really fully and a bit stiff after feeds, a bit uncomfortable.  He is a frequent feeder at 3-3.5 hourly even through the night ( 3 times a night) I have a big supply, so I am not surprised at all the acltose overload couls still be an issue.  I am going to continue on the drops for a few weeks  and hopefully when he drops some feeds it won't be an issue anymore.

I'm ditching the DF. It is definitely NOT working after 5 days. Last night was the worst of his life (the second worst was the 1st day I DF him and the third worst was another day I DF him). He's still been waking in the early hours anyway plus I haven't managed to DF him without him waking at some stage of the process.

Thanks for your help
