It only "switched on " from 7pm so no it didn't and of course I told them he only sleeps during the day at nap time.

Well after only letting him nap 15mins yesterday we had a STTN I think :-\

I'm wary of not letting him nap everyday so just wondered what your thoughts were?  This week is likely to be a bit hit and miss anyway due to my grandpa being in hospital and my mum wanting to be there with him.

I think today I should do a nap on that basis - perhaps cap it at an hour and slightly later bed?

I meant to also say we have stopped the soya as of today - Karen, we're doing rice milk and oat milk - is that ok?  DH couldn't get coconut milk.

Laura I just thought I'd let you know that waitrose is the best place for alternative milk drinks, they have a large selection. I've had coconut milk before, I'll try and find where I got it. Waitrose also do coconut milk in cans (for cooking) and coconut cream which is very high in fat if you need it. It's in the oriental cooking bit.

Laura - what is oat milk - what are the nutrition facts and ingredients? I'm not familiar with it...

Karen - I'll have to look it up properly!

Today we capped his nap at an hour - he was in a bit of a grump afterwards which is unlike him even after being woken.

However, he was so tired - he was out like a light this evening at 7pm.  Fingers crossed for another good night.

The oat milk looks good BUT still really low in fats, more of a substitute for the rice milk than for the coconut milk. If possible, I'd still try to find the coconut milk to get some good fats in his diet...

Fingers and toes crossed for you!

Yep, hoping here too, Laura!  Maybe you could be on to something; I think the plan of capping at an hour and allowing a no nap day here and there is a good one.  Big (((hugs))), hon!!  :-*

sweetie the only down side of oat milk apparently is that it can bind up calcium (it's fortified, but not readily available iyswim?).  Rice milk is good but can constipate and yes both are very low in fats so in Aus not recommended as a whole food under 2 yo I think.  Coconut cream is usually in cans in the asian food section here :)

Good luck lovely

Thanks for the info about the oat milk.  TBH I'm looking at it as a short term thing before trying him on cow's milk again - however I will get some coconut milk in the meantime.

He appeared to STTN again - I can never actually be 100% sure due to him not always making much noise.  He does however seem exceptionally tired - is that it just catching up due you think?

My mum is letting him have an hour nap again today so we'll see what happens...

Maybe he feels better from not having soy milk or cow's milk? I'd stick with it for a while - trying to do a combo of rice or oat milk with the coconut milk. If it goes well I probably wouldn't try dairy or soy again for at least 3 months...

Definitely could be him catching up!

Hey Laura, i can't remember if it's this thread or the other that you mentioned if O might be sleeping with eyes open.  Perhaps in the night, when he's sitting, he wasn't awake fully?  It's good that he's STTN now.  hugsssssss  Hope this continues!!!
