The thing is he goes to bed between 6.30 and 7pm due to having to be up so early during the week. So I have been setting the lights for 7am at wkends.  Do you think that's ok?

This morning he was calling from 6am onwards ::)  I went in eventually and just said to him "your sunshine isn't on is it?" he said "no" so I said "mummy will get you up when your sunshine comes on" he then was quiet even after the sunshine had come on !!!

We do the same thing with my 7yo step daughter sweetie, if she is yelling out before 7am (which we strongly discourage because Dyllan is opposite) we tell her that she can do something quietly but we will come and get her at 7am....I think it's reasonable.  Dyllan HAS to wait for me to come and get him (as he is still in his cot) many mornings as I am feeding Caleigh, he doesn't mind and I don't think it's bad for him, gives him time to wake up and be cheerful
xx hugs to you lovely!!

We had a crazy weekend too.  It's all over the map here.  Teeth I think.  Or some random stuff we'll never figure out.  Took him 30 mins yammering away before he would go to sleep.  He ended up with an 8 p.m. bedtime which is most certain to be disastrous.

Sorry Laura :-(

We actually will only set the lights for an 11 hour night.  I know there's no way of getting 12.  But if O is in a BBB and can self-entertain in his room, then I think 12 is fine.

But I think that it's great he understood to be quiet.  It may not be long before he just gets bored and goes back to sleep!

Are all his molars through? I know you said before that the meds really helped with this.

I can't even see the bl**dy things now!!  None have cut or have even started so not sure what's going on.  However I gave meds last night and he settled within about 5mins so who knows :-\

Just seen this.  big hugs!!  Would you want to try med before sleep and nap for 3 days to see if it helps?  IF and only if there's safe sleeping pill for babies and toddlers.... i would totally use it....  :(  bad mom speaking

Believe me Lily I am such a bad mum. :(  I will give him an antihistamine in the night if he's awake too long and I have work.

I will give meds again tonight and see what happens.  He started talking LOADS in his sleep too, but I do it so it's not surprising I guess!

perhaps it's developmental...  his mind working too fast... fingers crossed for tonight!!  we have all night crying very briefly, perhaps dreams perhaps pain.  med helps a great deal but still 5:50 wake which we're trying to live with.

can melatonin level be tested??  i have big problems sleeping myself and have been relying on night cap (more like night bucket) to sleep.  bad habit :(

Not sure Koe. All I know is that my sleep has never been the same since having kids, especially with babies and toddlers. It does get better when they are 3 if that is any consolation (I was preg when DS1 was 3 so didn't get to enjoy the benefit!)

I am officially shattered today.

These nights are just not getting better.

Last night 40mins to settle, awake for at least an hour, and still woke early.

Please send me some stay awake vibes!
