You are doing a great job! This is very good news!
U ll need to tell gma to stick to routine as much as possible! So hopefully things will be just fine!
If a day or two things go wrong, then early bedtime is key.
Enjoy the rest! Big hugs X

Wow, sounds like things are going well!! :D  Way to go.  I hope the disruptions don't rock the boat too much.

This sounds horrible, but I think her getting sick was the best thing that could have happened. It made her NEED to sleep and let her get caught up enough that 1 nap is working. Today she woke early from her nap (she went down a little OT), but I was able to get her back to sleep for another 30 minutes. Then she went to bed early, and I am crossing my fingers for a 5th morning of 9 am wake time!

I am giving my MIL a whole novel of instructions. I think I covered every scenario of nap(s) I could think of, and what she should do if something happens. Hopefully she follows it and asks questions if she has them.

It was once again 9am! I was so very thankful that I sent a very well rested child to my MIL.

She slept pretty decently at their house, usually had to take 2 naps because she didn't take a nap longer than 1 hour the whole time she was there. She slept through the night every night (so they said) and slept in until 9:45 on the first morning!! Granted, I told them not to let her sleep past 9 and they forgot, but I was still impressed that she slept in that long. After a couple days she started waking at 8 and 7, and then today woke at 6:50.

Her second nap ended up being later than I wanted, and so she wasn't really tired when I put her down for the night at 8:30. She woke every 5 minutes until 9:15, but has stayed asleep since. I am hoping for a later wake time tomorrow than she has had. She still has a cold, and is acting like her mouth hurts so I think molars may be moving around and thinking about coming through.

Now for the next big disruption lol!

We are moving to Oregon (from UT) for 3 months because of DH's work. I am very excited about it, and hope that Kaylee handles it ok. I have 4 days to get her back to sleeping well before the 14 hour drive to OR. I am splitting it into two days, but it is still a LONG ways. I may not get to post until after we move, so wish us luck!

Ok, time to start some damage control.

DD seems to be overly cranky and upset. She still has a pretty stuffy gross nose, and I am considering taking her in to make sure it isn't a sinus infection. I am also wondering if there are molars coming in and gave her some Tylenol. It has only been 15 minutes and she is already happier.

She woke this morning at 7:40, and was immediately fussing, cranky, not very hungry, and just generally not happy. I am debating whether I should try to stretch her to take one nap today or go with to short ones and hope we don't have an even earlier morning tomorrow. I have a feeling she is going to be in the habit of taking a 1 hour nap so even if I do 1 nap that may be all it is.

I was just questioning today's nap(s). I am pretty sure we are on to 1 nap for most days, but because she took 2 naps most days at the in-laws house, I wasn't sure if she would make it long enough for two. But she has stayed pretty happy since the tylenol. So because she was up early, I am going to do her nap at noon and then hope she takes a decent nap.

Today is the first day I have had her back since she was with my MIL for 5 days. I am hoping she can get back on 1 nap pretty easily.

Why don't u stick to 2 if she was fine with that?
A too early transition can cause OT and EWs...
What do u think?

Yesterday we did great with one nap! She only slept for 1.5 hrs for her nap, but was more than happy to go down for the night early. She is still asleep at 8:00 so I guess we got something right....for now. So I guess once we are moved, we will be back to trying to lengthen that darn nap!

:) that sounds good, your lo seems to be hndling herself nicely :) i think once you are settled, you can try and stretch the first A time every few days till you reach 12 or 12:30pm ( eventually around 18 months , it will be 1:30) for that first nap, her day will balance out nicely and you will have a nice long nap in the middle.
check the EASY of 13+ months for an example of a typical day of a toddler.
good luck, you are doing great X

Ugh. It looks like a short nap is the least of our worries right now. I posted over on the getting back on track board because we have been getting 5 am wake times for the past 3 days and it is getting harder and harder to get her to nap at all.

mmm maybe it was too early to give her only 1 nap a day after all... 5 am is the OT monster ! you want to try to try 2 naps again? like when she was at grandmas? I know i have suggested this before but this is the only thing I can think of for now!...
what do you think?
