Help needed with 8 1/2 month old
« on: September 10, 2010, 16:23:11 pm »
Hi Everyone!

I soooo relied on this forum for the first 9 weeks after Tori's birth but everything was going so well that I haven't posted in a long time!  She has been sleeping 12 hours thru the night since she was 9 weeks old and her EASY has been a dream come true!!  She has adjusted very well to all of the EASY changes (3 naps to 2 naps, 6 BFs per day to 4BFs per day, etc).

This past week is a different story.  I feel like I went from 4 BFs per day back to 6BFs per day.  She used to be a great sleeper.  We just did her routine, placed her in the crib, and she would doze off.  This week, I have had to BF her before each nap.  She is actually falling asleep during the BF and I am then placing her in her crib.  She has also been waking up at 6:30am the past few days, which is early for her.  I am worried that perhaps my milk supply is low?  Could this be a growth spurt?

Here is our EASY (we start late and finish late.  She is my only child and I am a SAHM):

Wake at 830 and BF
A - 900
E (solids) - 1030
S - 1130 - 130
Wake
E (BF) - 130
A - 200
E (solids) - 330
S - 430
Wake
E (BF) - 530
A - 600
E (solids) - 730
Bedtime routine starts at 830, final BF at 9pm and she is asleep for the night
**This past week, add a BF right before each nap!!!

Now, she did cut 2 more teeth this week, but these are her 5th and 6th and she never seemed this fussy.  Any help you can provide is so much appreciated!!!

Hmm mine did something funny with her routine just before 8 months. Could it be that she is sleeping too much during the day and that you may need to cut one of her naps. Around that age we went to a 45 min nap and a 1 1/2 hrs nap.

hi there,

Does your LO wake up ready for the day at 6:30?  Or does she seem tired still?

She may potentially need an A time increase, or maybe a nap cut if that doesn't remedy the situation.

I'm thinking along the same lines as empoweredmama

check out some of these links...might shed some light for you. I think if you've had a great routine till now you probably just need a tweak to get her back on track

Also - I would try to stop the feed to sleep as soon as you can...its a minefield!
