2 year old still having formula in bottles
« on: September 19, 2010, 18:23:45 pm »
please help me  :'( :'( :'( i really am at my wits end.

I've been on BW prev as bradleysmom for those who go back a few years.

Anyway DS is 2 years 1 month and driving me up the wall with his eating habits. Very briefly he has never been a good eater, he only ate pureed food till he was over 12 months and never has the patience to sit and eat for longer than a few minutes, even now not even keen on eating finger food on the run. Still goes mad for a bottle of milk in the morning and one before bed, wont touch cows milk has to have formula. It has to be a bottle and I have to feed him. Nothing or no one else will do  :( As a single Mom it is incredibly draining having to do everything for him as well as keep tabs on 2 teenage daughters...

Sausages...thats all he will eat at the moment. Well and yoghurts, biscuits, chocolate, crisps. All of which have been banned for the last week (except yoghurts).

Is it OK for him to have formula in bottles at his age?

 :'(

(((hugs)))
You can gradually exchange formula for cows milk, ie take out 1oz of formula and add 1oz of cows milk, and then a few days later swap 2oz. etc. I don't think there's any 'problem' with having formula except of course he needs to be eating better with his solids. I think you could hand him a bottle of milk (gradually diluting to cows milk) and let him either feed himself or not have it. Of course he's going to complain, he's a toddler ;) but he'll eventually either do it for himself or start eating more, either of which will be an improvement on things now.
