Maybe a dumb question but...
« on: September 18, 2010, 02:55:11 am »
Does lactose contain Cow's Milk Protein? I bought some teething tablets at the Health Food Store today, friends of mine rave about these tablets, but once I got them home I read the box more closely and it says the formula is in "a pleasant lactose N.F. base."  I have no idea what the N.F. is for and am now not sure if I should even try these out on my MPI baby because of the lactose? Or is lactose a part of the milk that is NOT protein? I have no idea... help....  :-[

Hi,
No, lactose does not contain milk protein, it is the milk sugar and is separate from the proteins.  I've heard that it should be no issue of an MPI person, but my daughter couldn't tolerate it, however, she reacted to pretty much everything for the first 1.5 years!

HTH!

Oh forgot to say the company that makes the teething tablets also make ear drops they stock them right beside the teething tablets, they are the bomb too :)
