Our DS's A times have dropped too and he's 16 months old.  He was on 5 hrs A time at 1 year and now he's down to 4.5 but sleeping way better than a few weeks ago....turns out he must have been OT.  His mood is a lot better too.  Could it just be that they have a shorter A time when the weather gets colder?  Maybe they are fighting off cold and flu season, although DS doesn't seem sick.

I think shorter A times are the way forward!  I've found that Ben is MUCH happier with a shorter morning A time and a longer one afterwards - so the day still sort of adds up.  xx

man it kinda totally sucks though cos now it means we cant do playgroups or anything anymore, it cuts right into naptime!!! I have been waiting 1.5 years for him to take a later nap so that he could do activities in the mornings.

I guess I cant win, either that or just suffer a short nap on those days, hey at least I know he can handle it after months and months of the same thing!

Well the shorter A time didn't do much here today but I’m going to keep it up.
He woke at 1 1/2hours then had another 30mins of restless sleep so I got him up. He was fine, chirpy happy lad.
Great C slept the 1hr40mins!
I'm stuck trying to figure this one out, I was only saying to DH that usually a tweak in his routine sorts everything out but I can't seem to find the right thing to tweak???
Yawn...Should be in bed! Good luck tomorrow xx
PS Great facebook link! I think I might do that too - if i figure out how? lol

Congrats Jo.     I've noticed that if Marlow has many days of OT then I have to drastically lower her A time just to get a good nap.   You may have to stick with a lower A for a while until he catches up.

Wow, way to go!  Perhaps after a couple more days of you helping him to resettle, he'll sleep longer on his own.  Assuming, of course, that he'll still want the shorter A time then.  Ahhh, I knocked on some wood there.

Fwiw, my sil has a son who's a month older than Aaron.  He wakes up around 7, takes his nap from 10-11, and then is up until bedtime.  She follows BW, too...so, just goes to show that LOs are not created equal.

I'm glad you're getting some down time, hon :-*

he woke at 2 hours, so perfect really :) thing is hes grumpy as heck, my goodness, i thought the whining would decrease!! oh well, hes outside now in the garage with Daddy making wood things so hes happy for a little bit longer.
I figure its like me when Ive had too long an afternoon nap, im all gluggy for the rest of the day, maybe cos hes just not used to longer nap hes just adjusting :D

hmmm ya know i thought after that big nap that he would make it easily to 7.30pm but he didnt! he was so tired by 6.30pm. Im wondering whats going on here, im so confused!

he had his nap at 11.45-1.55 (with a 10min waking in between) and then we had him in bed by 7.15, had to push him though, he was starting to get all hyped up which shows us he was over what he could handle.

Is this normal? Im not sure whats going on, anyone else have this? i just dont wanna put him down too early and have him wake up for hours in teh night or even worse an EW!
