I think I have a Fussy Eater - Help
« on: October 07, 2010, 20:14:02 pm »
Hi
Gosh, I really need some ideas, not sure how to handle this one.
Basically I have a LO who is 2 years old now and before a year old she ate everything I put in front of her...not sure what has happened, but slowly but surely she has turned into abit of a fussy eater with a very limited diet (I think)...
Her diet consists of mainly:

Pasta (sometimes with a veg sauce, sometimes with butter and cheese)
Spaghetti
Rice & chicken curry
Mince lamb (sometimes)
Mashed potato
Sausages
Fish (depending on mood)
Veg - she likes raw carrots, steamed broccoli and peas
Weetabix (for B/F sometimes)
Toast

Is this a varied diet, I keep thinking its fairly limited or perhaps I just need some more ideas - I dont know

I know they do get fussy abit around this age, but just not how to handle it really - I generally encourage her to eat some more or just offer more fruit at the end of her meal..

Please help

Thanks
Ash

I think that is fine really - might be a bit boring but it really does hit all the major food groups. You have good carbs, proteins, veggies, dairy etc.

Sometimes it is better to think about what they are lacking nutitionally and how to sneak it back in.

My sons diet is A LOT more limited than that (but he has always been dreadful) but the feeding team have always told me that it is fine even if they eat the same everyday as long as the food groups are met.

Just keep trying new things every now and again  :)
