Happily I made up new meat patties at lunch time and DS scarfed one down. I used a lb of ground beef (85% lean) to which I added 1/2 cup whole wheat bread crumbs, 1/2 cup homemade apple puree, and a mixture of about 1/3 cup diced onion and 1/2 cup shredded carrot which I'd cooked in some butter for 5-6 minutes to soften. Made that all into 8 patties and cooked one in a skillet with olive oil on medium heat for about 4-5 minutes per side. Then popped into a 350 oven for 5 more minutes. The remaining raw patties I wrapped individually in wax paper and then popped into a Ziploc and in the freezer to cook and serve as needed.
