Happy Birthday for your Lo for the weekend. Have FUN!!!!

Hope the christening goes really well.

Can you do me a favour though...

Just post the sort of routine you have been doing for the last couple of days - so that Laura034 can see, wondering Laura if it may help you :-*

thank you! I am so looking forward to it. Her first birthday!

Of course; today was a bit of a long day because she woke at 5.22 am (old time would be 6.22 am) and I put her to bed at 7 pm new time. that was why I was keen to have three naps today. Hopefully she will wake as normal tomorrow.

Anyway, I will do the last three days. Two naps today out of the three were not in her cot. Normally that doesn't happen.

Sunday 31st October 2010
Woke at 1.43 am and needed a hand to settle; was settled within a minute. Woke again at 2.15 am - just a cry out this time.
A - 5.22 am (clocks went back one hour in the night) - 8.56 am - 3 hours and 34 mins
S - 8.56 am - 9.53 am - 57 mins
Settled quite quickly. Needed a bit of a hand to sleep. Cried out at 9.24 am and 9.31 am, but managed to get back to sleep. That is the first time she managed to resettle herself during a nap!
A - 9.53 am - 1.15 pm - 3 hours and 22 mins
S - 1.15 pm - 2.06 pm - 51 mins
Slept in the car on the way home. Drove around for a bit and then parked outside the house for the rest of the nap. Woke up because some neighbours were being a bit noisy!
A - 2.06 pm - 3.55 pm - 1 hour and 49 mins
S - 3.55 - 4.18 pm - 23 mins
Fell asleep on the walk. Was very sleep the whole way, but didn't actually go to sleep until near the end because there were people with motorbikes near by.
A - 4.18 pm - 7.05 pm - 2 hours and 47 mins
Went to sleep very easily tonight. I wasn't sure after the late sleep!

Saturday 30th October 2010
Didn't wake at all during the night.
A - 6.04 am - 9.43 am - 3 hours and 29 mins
S - 9.43 am - 10.42 am - 59 mins
Settled reasonably quickly. I had to lie her down from standing a couple of times.
A - 10.42 am - 3.38 pm - 5 hours
S - 3.42 pm - 4.12 pm - 30 mins
Tried to get Grace to nap at 2.15 pm, but wasn't tired enough. I tried again at 3 pm, but again didn't want to nap. I think she was very OS with all that was going on today. It doesn't bode well for this week! Anyway, we went out for a walk with the dog and she fell asleep straight away. Slept for only half an hour though.
A - 4.12 pm - 7.17 pm - 3 hours and 5 mins
Took about 15 mins to settle. I had to put her down from standing a few times.

Friday 29th October 2010
Didn't wake up at all during the night.
A - 6.22 am - 9.44 am - 3 hours and 22 mins
S - 9.44 am - 10.53 am - 1 hour and 9 mins
Settled to sleep very quickly.
A - 10.53 am - 2.14 pm - 3 hours and 21 mins
S - 2.14 pm - 3.15 pm - 1 hour and 1 min
Went to sleep in the car when I was on my way home. She slept for a whole hour - amazing!
A - 3.15 pm - 7.00 pm - 3 hours and 45 mins
Settled very quickly. Had a few 'cry outs' but settled again herself. Woke up at 7.35 pm, and needed to give her a hand to resettle.

I am trying to stick to 3.5 hours from when she first wakes (assuming she has at least 11 hours) and then if she sleeps for an hour, give her another 3 or 3.5 hours. It seems to be working for now and the naps seem to be at roughly the same time every day. I am not sure whether she would nap at 2.15 pm if she wasn't in the car. We will see tomorrow. On Saturday, I am not surprised she didn't want to sleep. My mum and dad were here and we were cooking for next weekend. It was a lot for her and I think she was OS. Also, if I suspect teething, I am giving her meds.

I hope that helps. If you need anything else, please ask. I am very happy to give any assistance I can. x

We had the BEST day! I can hardly believe it. Here it is:

Monday 1st November 2010
Woke at 5.25 am! A very early start! I think her body hasn't adjusted to the new time yet.
A - 5.25 am - 9.10 am - 3 hours and 45 mins
S - 9.10 am - 11.10 am - 2 hours!!! I even had to wake her up! I can't believe she slept so long. She has never done that before.
Settled in about 10 mins
A - 11.10 am - 3.00 pm - 3 hours and 50 mins
S - 3.00 pm - 3.38 pm - 38 mins (I wouldn't have let her sleep any longer than 45 mins, but she woke up herself.)
Settled in about 7 mins
A - 3.38 pm - 7.08 pm - 3.5 hours
Settled in about 8 mins. Cried out quite a bit, but not the 'I need you cry' so I didn't go in to her. She put herself to sleep in the end.

A great day! I am so thrilled. Hopefully she will do it again tomorrow - without the EW.

Laura034, I hope you are getting some more sleep. How is it going?

Thank you both!

Happy birthday to Henry! I hope you have had a lovely day.

We were back to the half an hour nap this morning. She woke at 6.05 am and I napped her at 9.35 am (although she took until 9.51 am to fall asleep because I think I missed the window). She was tired earlier, but I thought she should do more than three hours. If that happens again, should I nap her when she starts rubbing her eyes?

I put her down again at 1.05 pm and she napped for just over an hour. I put her to bed 15 mins earlier (6.45 pm) because she had a very long last A time.

I would say she was UT - the last A time you got a good nap on was that 3hrs 45min and you put her down before that.  I always push at least 15mins or so more from the eyes rubbing to make sure they are really tired.

Thank you! I will do 3 hours 45 mins tomorrow and see what I get from that! Hopefully another two hours. I am not sure why I put her down earlier than that because I meant to do longer. I think because she was rubbing her eyes, I went earlier. A good tip about leaving it 15 mins from the eye rubbing. Thanks!

Hi I'm so glad things are going better, we are still struggling here, but hopefully I'll get that magic A time soon. Laura x

I am sorry you are still struggling. It really is SO hard to find the magic A time and what works one day may not work the next.

We were back to our half hour naps today. Here was our day:

Wednesday 3rd November 2010
Didn't wake at all in the night - even after going to bed a bit earlier (6.46 pm).
A - 6.18 am - 10.10 am - 3 hours and 52 mins
Took a bit to settle. Wasn't keen to sleep. I don't think she was tired enough after her long night. I think next time, I would wait a bit longer before putting her down.
S - 10.10 am - 10.38 am - 28 mins
Not a long sleep. I think she was UT.
A - 10.38 am - 1.25 pm - 2 hours and 43 mins
S - 1.25 pm - 2.00 pm - 35 mins
Settled very quickly, but didn't sleep for long.
She slept from 4.10 pm - 4.15 pm in the car.
A - 2.00 pm - 6.58 pm - 4 hours and 58 mins
Took a bit to settle. I think she was completely exhausted and perhaps a little OS because her uncle and aunt and two little cousins arrived just as she was having her quiet time before bath and bed! I hope because she was very OT at bedtime that she doesn't have any NW or an EW.

Laura, I hope things get better for you very soon. Did you read the link I put on here earlier in the week, or perhaps the end of last week?

Hello! Not been on for a few days because we were very busy with family. Grace's birthday was great, and her Christening was just amazing. It was quite a few days really!

There was lots of noise, and lots happening, so naps were a bit hit and miss, although she did really well. She generally got enough sleep, either in her cot or out and about. She woke very early for three of the days, but I wasn't too surprised. This morning she slept until 6.45 am! It's the longest she has slept without waking in the night, or without being in our bed. Her naps were terrible today though! I think I put her down too early this morning and I think she was woken up this afternoon, although I don't know for sure. Never mind, I am pleased with the way she is sleeping. I am much more relaxed about it and I think that helps. I am sure she will wake again early tomorrow because of her lack of daytime sleep today.

How is it going with you?

We are still the same here.I'm also trying not to stress about it. I'm glad Grace had a great birthday!
