I just thought maybe you should push out that second A time since he had a good AM nap of 1.5hrs. However, you know Ethan best so if you think 30-40min is OT, then follow your gut and put him down sooner for his second nap. And I know what it is like to have your lo go to bed so early, we are doing similar BT. :-[ Hopefully things will get later.....

well...he just had a 45 min nap that was totally OT, woke up screaming and wouldn't go back to sleep.  Guess his second nap is going to be early whether I want it to be or not :) I'm going to watch him, but will try to go for 3 hour A, which will put us at 1:30 and hopefully he'll get at least 1.5 hour nap?!

It seems that he gets on 1.5 hour nap, and one 45...most of the time the long nap in the am.  I did wake him from the nap at 1.5 hours this morning because we had church, and his second nap I think he was ready for so I don't know why we only got 45 min??  I think he was MAYBE cold, or he just somehow knows he's topped out his 2.25 hours of DS?!!

Last night he was asleep by 6:15 and with two short NW for a bottle, he didn't wake for the day until 6:30, so that's PROGRESS!  I wasn't sure how the morning nap would go since he woke up so much later than "normal" but at 9:30 he was definitely ready.  I'm just sticking with the plan until all the teeth are through.  3 are through and the 4th should appear in the next 48 hours I bet.  MAYBE things will be sorted out then?  Or he'll have a growth spurt :)

hugs for the rough nights hun, teething is no fun for anyone. good idea to stick with your current routine til the teeth are out and then you can see what you are really dealing with.

on the nw/feeding, i know it's rather late to start one, but have you considered starting a df? that way you will know to just settle with no feeding for the rest of the night. my thoughts being that then the df would be easier to get rid of.

I have thought about bringing the DF back...I guess it wouldn't hurt to try!  In reading the posts in the BC this morning, it seems like a lot of people are feeding more often in the daytime than I am.  Maybe he's simply HUNGRY??!!  He eats a lot, but maybe I'll try pumping him with a bottle too in between every meal?

Things are better, I guess two night feeds is progress :(  While my husband is gone for the next couple of weeks and the teeth are in, I'm kind of just going with it and doing whatever we need to do to sleep around here!  Deal with the bad habits I may be creating when I have back up!

Today, I stuffed him :)
He had 3 meals, and 3 bottles.  It's hard to say in oz. how much food...but he had 20 oz of milk and I'm going to try a DF for sure because at BT he was SO tired he barely ate.  He had a hard boiled egg, yogurt and some cheerios for breakfast.  Some fruit and applesauce at lunch, and some turkey, rice and veggies dish, some fruit and more cheerios at dinner.  This is a typical day minus maybe 5-10 oz of milk (the 20 oz today doesn't include the additional 8 he's usually eat at BT, so if I add that to the days total it's 28 oz).
He eats solids at 7, 12 and 4pm and usually milk at 8, 2 and 6-6:30 before bed.  Today he had an extra bottle...I don't know where in that schedule I fit it in?  Maybe at 11?  I can't remember!!

maybe add some carbs (rice, potato, bread or pasta) and protein at lunch. how big are his daytime bottles usually when he has 3?

Well, last night was terrible!  He was in pain from the teeth.  One more needs to poke through and hopefully things will be better.  The last two days, he's only had one nap.  Mon, one hour and today 1.5 hours :(  I put him to bed early both nights.  We'll see what happens tonight...I just hope we can both get caught up

more hugs hun :-*

do what you need to survive until DH is back for support. the extra bottle during the day (4 day bottles) could be good if he will take it. maybe when DH is back you could start the DF and then resettle for all other nw? or you can have a 'not before' time to feed during the night and resettle for all nw before that.

thinking of you, k is about to get tooth numbers 3 and 4 on the bottom and another at the top looks close too. it is not fun at all!

have you tried a dream med before? (sneak in and give pain meds in their sleep just before you go to bed). it worked wonders with ds1, ds2 on the other hand takes 20 to 40mins to resettle if we try that ::)

Well, of course now we have COLDS!!!  He's taking it much better than I am :)  Last night he did great...he woke up twice but once I'm pretty sure was because the meds wore off and the other hunger.  I also snuck in a CN for him yesterday because I just could see he was so tired (maybe because of the cold or just OT from several days of crappy naps and nights).  The last two nights have been 12 hour nights in terms of total sleep for him so that's good.
Thanks for all the support.  It's nice to have others out there that "get it".  Not that my other mom freinds don't but not the BW way :)

OK, colds are over, teeth I'm not sure, but new "issues".  He's been FREAKING out at BT and afternoon nap yesterday.  I'm posting his latest typical EASY to see if anyone thinks his A times might be the issue.  I kind of think it might be SA??  But really, I feel like I'm usually guessing :)

7am wake up
7:30 breakfast
9:30 nap (usually a bottle sometime before)
11 wake
11:30 lunch
2:30 nap (yesterday screamed for an hour before I gave in and let him up)
3:30-4 wake up
4:30 dinner
6:15 bath
6:30 BT bottle (yesterday an hour early as no afternoon nap.  Also took nearly an hour to get to sleep as he was screaming and inconsolable)

Other than the new thing of getting extremely upset at the last couple of BTs and the one nap, I'd say things are going very well.  I just feel SOOO bad about the last couple of nights.  He is just so upset, and I feel like I don't know what to do or what I'm doing.  I have basically gone in, laid him back down, told him he's ok, rubbed his back a little and then left.  He screams harder, then stands up looking for me, I go back in and repeat the process.  I don't know if I'm doing the right thing...better yet whatever is best for him.

Kim, This is exactly what I have gone through the last couple of weeks. DH was sure it was SA, but an increase in A time has helped here.
