okay. I'll do that then. I feel better with a plan of attack.

I do think she probably needs more A time...she has ALWAYS needed more A time.

You would think I'd learn by now...::) Hopefully this is just all that it is....UT/OT as usual...

no crying. not a peep when I put her down after almost 6 hours of A time and one hour of sleep. Weird. She howled yesterday with a tiny bit less than that amount.

ay carumba.

Oy, Sarah!  I'm glad it sounds like things are looking up a bit now, even if she really is confusing everyone! ;)

BTW - I would like to join the 'I hate teeth, what the heck do we need them for anyhow?' club.  LOL.  Especially molars!!!! :D

How did the rest of the night go?

Yes, Sarah hope you had a good night. And I'm IN for that club. I'll serve the coffee and chocolate!

Oh yes. I hate teeth. I would be the president but dh may not agree with that title ;D ;D

I'm really positive right now. She didn't make a peep all night until 6:44 ...11 hours and 15 minutes - ain't too shabby. Then I just gave her an A time of 5 hours and 40 minutes. Still awaiting the result of the nap!

Hey so question? If her morning As get long...and so does her afternoon A ...what does that do to her day? 13 hours?

Also, does that mean she won't be napping by 2 years? Considering she went from 3 hours to ...um 1 hour and something in 4 months...I don't have high hopes.

It is like she's demanding more A time faster than her age can handle it? Thanks ladies for the support..funny how I -still- don't get it after 16 months!

When they are still napping it does mean a longer day.  There are a lot of kids like that, and some that will just give up napping at 2 yrs of age or fight it shortly thereafter.  So it's tweak tweak and more tweaking.  Some can cope with a nap cut, and for some a nap cut does nothing and they need a longer day.  Some can do with moving the nap around and shifting how they take their A.

What happened that you didn't give her 6 hrs A?  Let us know how the nap goes - crossing fingers that it was enough A on that fantabulous night.

Yes they do demand things they aren't ready for.  Cart before the horse and all that.  Ah the joys!

I didn't want it to be nearly 1pm to give her a nap (12:44, rather than 12:25 or whatever). I know she needs a long A time before bed. ..plus I didn't know if my (*cough* our!) theory was correct.

She gave me 1 hour and 50 minutes...so I think if I did push her to 6 hours, she would have given me 2 hours plus.

the fact that she STTN with 1 hour of sleep and 6.5 hours of A time yesterday..um..I think I can't hope for anything more than 1.5-2 hours at this point really. I want to put her down before 8pm...

I agree, 1.5/2 hrs with her long nights is likely all you will get.

Brilliant napping news BTW.  Phew lol  I would have felt like an a$$.

I think that 1.5-2 hrs is a great nap for this age, but maybe I am wrong? I know that Nathan is usually happy with that amount. He is still on 5.5 hrs A time, though. He has always needed a short morning and long afternoon.

And a big 'yee haw' for Z STTN for that long and then having a good nap! Good girl. Have her speak to N, please. His naps have lengthened but his nights are still short. Oh well, could be worse. And I think it will get better with time.

Good nap and hope for another good night for you! Yes, sounds like you might need to shorten her nap down to 1.5 eventually (not yet) and/or extend her days - but for now sounds like this is working!
