more E in our EASY routine
« on: November 18, 2010, 04:01:44 am »
1.5 weeks ago I started the EASY routine, PU/PD, etc. for my 7-month old daughter who was previously nursing to sleep, on no routine, cosleeping and snacking all night.  It was off to a pretty good start, then she caught a cold and started cutting her second tooth.  I went through some pretty long PU/PD sessions and in some cases found that she was likely hungry (I know it could be mistaken for nursing for comfort but I'm quite quite sure it is hunger) and a quick feed would often make for a smoother bedtime.  As might be expected from how she spent her first 7 months of life, she often eats well, then nods off to sleep while eating.  In this case I wake her before putting her down so she's at least aware that she is falling asleep in the crib.  She is not too keen on solids which she officially started at 6 months old, so milk is most of her diet.  I've found that nursing her near or during bedtime really helps her go down more easily and to sleep longer and better.  As long as she's not falling asleep on the breast and going into her crib asleep, is this okay?

Hi there,
So yes, if she's a good independent sleeper and has not associated sleep with the breast then it should be no problem. I feed my daughter before naps and bed too...we do book, brush her teeth, and our wind down..

If you think that she's using the breast to relax and go to bed..then perhaps we could look at your EASY and we can try sorting her routine?
