Dropping last bottle...
« on: November 21, 2010, 07:52:57 am »
ooooh! Just read a good thread on when people have dropped those last bottles.   :)

AG is nearly 17M and has her morning bottle (when she first wakes up) still.  She never wanted that bedtime one - and though we've never hinted to her about dropping it if she thinks for any reason she's not getting it (as in it's not right there the milli-second she wakes up!) then she gets VERY distraught and starts yelling for her "Milt!".  If I'd been able to BF I wanted to do that till 18months so was thinking of dropping it soon.

Any tips for dropping that last bottle?

She has her pepti junior in a sippy cup and lunch and dinner time and water in a mini-pump bottle throughout the day.

thanks!

First, can you start offering her first milk feed in a sippy rather than the bottle. She may take it whether it's a bottle or not b/c she is thirsty/hungry and wants the milk so may not care whether it's a bottle or a cup. If that goes well after awhile, I'd try to delay it little by little until you start offering it with breakfast. You may have to do it super gradually depending on how upset she is, but you can always see how it goes.
