« on: November 22, 2010, 18:33:00 pm »
Hello,

My baby is 15 weeks old and we are trying to stick to the easy routine. His typical day would be
wake between 4.30-6
E 7.00
A 7 - 8.30
S8.30 - 10.30
E 10.20 - 11.00
A 11 - 12.45
S 12.45 - 14.45
E 14.45
A 14.45 - 16.15
S 16.15 - ?? this is where i go wrong and massive tantrums occur i wake him upat around 17.30 thinking he can feed and have activity and bed for 7, it dosent work but i dont want him to sleep untill 7 as then he will not sleep at night.

then it goes wrong!!!!!!

Problem seems to be he can go four hours without food but can only stay awake approx 1.5/1.45 hrs. It worls through the day but come early evening should i let him sleep until 6.30 - 7ish? Confused? Help! We always have trouble around 6ish because he is Over tired. can some one please advise me what to do eary evening so he is not OT and we can avoid the tantrums every night! also he only seems to need approx 9-10 hrs sleep a night so always wakes early even though not hungry!

Hi there!
welcome to the boards!

When he wakes early in the morning..what do you do? What does he do? Would he go back to sleep if you feed him?

He's almost 4 months? His A time is almost around average (4 months can do 1.45 -2 hours). While it's common that breastfed (is he breastfed?) babies go to a 4 hour feed around 4-5 months, it's not uncommon for them to reach there earlier.

Just looking at your EASY...just seems like his A times are a bit long? If he sleeps until 10:30 in the morning, he would need to be in bed by 12:15-12:30.

If he's up by 4:30 in the morning, then he would need to have an early bedtime. 5:30 even. Try to think of their day split into two - 12 hours to be "up" and 12 hours for sleep at night. Anything more than 13 hours would be a long long day and they would get OT quickly.

He needs a small catnap at the end of the day that doesn't go past 30-45 minutes and then a short A time to bed.

I'm just going to list some links that may help clarify some things :) Let me know what you think!
