Yup, the rest of the day sucked big time ::) She wouldn't go down for nap #2 at all before we had to go to my parents. When I tried to get her napping there, I got 20 min and that's it. By the time we got home she was MASSIVELY OT and wouldn't settle until close to 9:00 :( It's gonna be a long night...

Hope your day was better. Fingers crossed for tomorrow!

With DS1, I really couldn't get a handle on what he needed until I started staying home all the time to watch him and be consistent.  Something that is just NOT possible to do over the holidays!  So you gotta make do with what you get and take it one day at a time.  Hopefully today will be better for you.  :)

Our day ended up ok, he did take a good pm nap (with a resettle of course) and made it to bedtime even though his last A time was long.  At least we didn't need to do a catnap.  Our night wasn't great but wasn't totally awful either.  We've been trying a reflux meds wean so I think that's contributed to the bad naps, and I've decided to put him back on his full dose for a little while longer.  There is just so much to consider with these LOs!!  :P

I can't imagine dealing with reflux on top of everything else. Kudos to you :)

Crummy nap day, she started out with a 30 min OT nap...I wasn't paying close attention to her since we got back from dropping DS off and the effing dog had been at the Christmas tree!! :o Carnage everywhere. :-\ Had to lock him in his crate and clean it up before the silly thing could do anything else.

Rest of the day went better, although of course we needed a CN and slightly early bedtime, but her night was much better. Her nose if pretty runny this morning, hopefully it's clearing itself out.

You know what I am finding is that sometimes OT accumulates and F just needs to go down a bit earlier one morning.  That was this morning, after a few days with short crappy naps and nights that haven't been great, I put him down earlier this morning and now he is doing on 1hr 20mins still napping.

It's tricky, because on one hand I try to hold him to his normal A times and keep him on track.  But sometimes he just needs to catch up, so I have to do a day with shorter A's.  This situation is normal I think, the key is to know when to push and when to back off!

Anyways, sounds liek 1hr 20mins is all I'm going to get as I hear him up.  Still, better than 30mins!  ;)

I'm starting to think the same thing. She had a better night last night, and seemed ok this morning so I kept it around 3 hours. She went to sleep on her own, but was up after about 35 min. I think we'll try for shorter A times the next few days, even if that guarantees the need for some CNs.

I has the same thought today, thinking that if I needed a catnap for him to catch up then that was ok (we had a few days last week witht he catnap and then he was back to longer As).  Kept his A times shorter, and so far he's given me that 1hr 20min nap in the morning, and coming up on 1hr 45mins this afternoon.  So looks like we won't need the catnap afterall!  :)

Good point, Martina! It took me sooo long to figure this out. I get pretty stubborn with his A times!

I am finding that my DD needs different A times at different times and it is so hard to work out! She also seems to have stopped giving me tired signals so can't even watch for them! Seem to be increasing her A time everyday but it is so hard at the min as we are out and about xmas shopping, so we are just getting 3 short naps as there is too much going on. If we are in the car she seems to fall asleep around the 2h 40 mark of A time, so might go for this tomorrow. Our am naps now seem to be going to 15-20 mins! They get shorter each day. ::)

Well, I went with shorter A times yesterday, and she had a fantastic day and night! I stuck to around 2 hours and 40 in the morning, and she slept 2 hours!! Then with about 2 and 50 in the afternoon she slept about an hour and 15. Decided to squeeze in a CN rather than go for early bedtime, and she STTN!!

Now, by no means do I think this will be the norm ::) But I do think we've found the way to ride this out until she's feeling better. While she did STTN, she was coughing a lot more last night...poor thing sounds terrible :P

Helloooo everyone,

I'm jumping in if you don't mind. I started the other "3 to 2 transition question" thread....after a couple of great days, we're having some issues once more. I wanted to follow along over here and discuss with you guys to see how you are all doing. Any progress?? How was everyone's night last night??

Hi again :)

We still have to do an occasional 3 nap day (like yesterday  ::)) but I really do try to avoid it if possible!!  One day at a time really.

I was just wondering if you ladies knew about the birth clubs?  I noticed a lot of us have LO's the same age and seem to be running into eachother on the same threads, lol.  I'm also on the 7-9mo birth club and it's an awesome place to see what other 7month olds are up to.  Maybe you ladies would like to join us??  http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=182443.0

Well, still having some up and down days..GREAT sleep during the day yesterday, although that was probably partially due to the 2 HOUR NW the night before :P Stupid cold not getting any better, she's leaking like a faucet and sounds so congested when she coughs. Not too bad today, the shorter A times are doign the trick to avoid 30 min naps, but I've only had one day without a CN. Pretty much planning to ride this out until after Christmas, hopefully she'll be feeling better by then.
