Our DD has been fed to sleep for all of her 13 months, until recently! Now she doesn't fall asleep like that, but will fall asleep being rocked.
However now it is even taking a long time to rock her to sleep. She wakes a lot in the night and her naps are short - maybe 45 minutes.
Apart from her sleeping she is a happy and social girl.
Anyway - we are trying to work out how to help her sleep.
She has never been sleep trained - apart from us trying to do a couple of haphazard things recently.
Where do we begin? And how do we begin?
Last night I tried gradual withdrawal...I put her in her bed when she was almost asleep, and then patted her. She jumped up to standing a lot - over 30 minutes I was constantly PD and then patting her. She eventually fell asleep after an hour. Woke again within 5 minutes - when I started it again. Then she slept... from 8:45pm - 2am. She woke twice in the night and went back to sleep within an hour with me doing the same thing. Wow am I tired!
Now this morning we are trying it for naps, and it just isn't working. How do we do this?
She is a strong girl. She has got herself in to a state about it all.
HELP!
