;D  Sounds good, Jenn!  I don't think you messed things up by bringing him into your bed in the morning.  Surely he'd had some NWs while you did that and he was still in his crib at that point.  These teeth combined with OT just make things messy for awhile.  Glad he's getting back on track for you!!

Gah...... Last night was a disaster! He went to bed at 6:30 and had woken up 6 times by 10pm. I stopped counting after that. I moved back into his room partway through the night. We medicated twice in re night which never seemed to make a difference. He was just plain miserable. He woke at 5:45 and since I had to get up at 6, I took him into the bed with DH and he fell back asleep there until 7:45 which is great but he still missed out in tons of sleep last night. Why can't we have more then one good night? Teething meds never really seem to help him all that much even though we moved his dose up and started ibuprofen. Ugh. Sorry this is more of a rant. Just so sick of it! I put him down for a nap earlier today despite the late wake-up and he went right to sleep and has been sleeping for an hour 25 min right now. I don't know what else to do....

Sorry, Jenn.  It really is tough when they're teething.  We've had trouble getting more than a good night or two in a row as well.  I don't have much more advice than to just try to get him through it, getting him whatever sleep you can.  ((Hugs)), hon!

I think you are doing what you can...we are getting astonishingly short nights again too, luckily no NW or I might just go insane.  It's those teeth.  Really it is.  Meds aren't helping here either.  He probably just doesn't feel 'right' and is sensitive to it.  Some are.

Hang in there - it's going to pass.

Ugh well it's comforting in a messed up way that other people are having this problem. Why do these bloody teeth take soooooooo long to come in?!?! We haven't even started on his two year molars yet! What annoys me the most is a kid in my Dayhome is 16 months old, his canines just popped through with him sleeping 14 hours a night without waking and he doesn't seem to care at all! And his mom complained because he woke up at 7:30 this morning and she is sooo tired because he woke so EARLY! Sorry off topic and rant over! :P

Ooo I hate these mothers lol
We have never ever had a 7:30 waking in 22 mths.  We've barely had a 6:30 waking in 22 mths lol

Well I bet later in life Ethan will be much more in tune with his own body than that other kid ;-)

Yes, it really is frustrating.  Rant all you want, Jenn!  It's hard to understand how teeth barely bother some kids and for ours, it's a HUGE deal.  Meds haven't been helping much here either, so I just give them when she's clearly losing it.  I do think some are just more sensitive to teething than others.

Exactly Wendy! You would be screaming from the roof tops if you got a 7:30 wake up without NW's!

I agree Katie, it is hard to k ow why LO's are affected so differently!

On the plus side, Ethan has now been napping for over two hours so maybe catching up on some nighttime sleep!

What does one do with multiple NW's and a 4:20 wake up ??? I don't even know where to begin fixing our day! Early nap and bedtime? Two naps? Continue on as normal? Ugh!

Oh Jenn, (((hugs)))!!  I would do two naps for sure, but I know that's probably hard with daycare at your house.  Otherwise, an early nap of like 10 am and early bedtime of 5:30 - 6 pm, but that seems like it throws the whole day off, doesn't it, so I don't really know.   ???

I am going to be the devil's advocate and suggest that you nap him at the same time, and hope he gives you more than 2 hrs.  But that's just me :-)

Did he go back to sleep at all at 4:20?  What's his temperament like at the moment?  What time did you nap him yesterday to get that brilliant nap?

Yesterday he napped at 11:30. Today I put him down at 11:20. I just couldn't get him down any earlier with these other kids here. He did not go back to sleep after 4:20. He was happy as can be until about 10am when he brought out his OT tricks (hitting, pushing, etc). The silly lady was here for her home visit so I couldn't get Ethan down at that time. We will see how the nap goes...
