Anyone got any recipe ideas using Quinoa, I've just bought some but have no idea what to do with it!

Thanks!  :)

You've reminded me that I want to make some for the boys too!  ;)

There are some recipes here you can try:  http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/quinoababyfoodrecipes.htm

I just remembered too, I used to put it in meatballs for DS1.  Worked really well that way.  :)

Thanks for the tip!

Is it a bit similar to cous-cous? I tried DD on cou-cous a while ago & she didn't like it but I will persevere. Trying to get both my LO's to eat the same food (& preferably healthy food!) is proving to be a challenge!!

It's been awhile since I made it so I can't quite remember, but I think it's smaller than cous cous.  It is healthier too I think as it is a complete protein.  Here we can also find quinoa flakes which you can use in cereals, etc.  Maybe your DD would like that instead if she doesn't like the cooked way.

I know what you mean, as if feeding one kid wasn't tricky enough, trying to get two to eat healthy is quite a challenge sometimes!!  :P

Good idea....I saw the flakes when I bought the grain & wondered what the difference was....will give it a try if they don't like it cooked (better had like it as it wasn't cheap!!)

I purchase the whole grain and cook it up like rice in the rice cooker. Then I would use it as a substitute for rice.

I cooked up a chilli con carne style mince with mixed vegetables and put in the cooked quinoa at the end. DS loved this so I got longevity out of these meals for quite some time (4 months of him having this either for lunch or dinner most days), but unfortunately he is now sick of eating this and I will have to try something else. Thanks for the links and ideas!
