Amy, cold, teething and OT here = not much sleep! Olly in with me for much of the night and even then he was tossing and turning so kept me up.

Wonder why Timmy woke once at 4.30?? Strange little things these babies!

Lo woke up at 6:30am today (bt was 5:45 but she fell alseep at 6:00pm, she was also up playing 2-2:30am so a 12 hr night) so as I am pushing bt back 15 mins today I have my plan: teething meds are going in right now, night diaper on with cream on bum and hopefully she sleeps more then an hr,wish me luck...5 mins to nap:)

Buntybear- oh no cold and teething {{{hugs}}} that is no fun and always throws everything out the window :( Rory seems to have has a permacold for about 6 months... Bring on the summer!! I hope your night is a bit better tonight!

We Actually managed a one nap day today the first proper one I'd say without any sneaky cn in the car. We're definateky heading for an early bt though, don't think he'll make it to 7.

Is it too much to hope that this might mean no 5 o'clock wake up tomorrow morning.

Fingers crossed and hope you all have a good night, thinking of you all.

Zx

Ps. Date night with DH wasn't too bad! Went to see The Kings Speech (def worth watching) so not much brain power or conversation needed... Perfect!

Sorry, I couldn't make it on yesterday what I meant is I haven't been able to get the second
A time right.

we've had a few days lately with only one long AM nap, no pm.
Then a few with 2 45 min naps for the whole day.
One day where he refused the PM nap after a 45 min am nap. So I took both kids in the car.

Elo - like somebody else said, he's actually coping better with 2 45 min naps spread out, then just the early 1.5 hour nap.
Also, E slept 12 hours last night. First in a long long time. Then he rejected the first nap, tried to early, we had people delivering our new bed, so we tried early, didn't work. So DH took him in the car to get a 35 min morning nap. E also doesn't show reliable tired signs for the PM nap so just trying to figure it all out. Not stressing too much because we aren't getting the LOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGGG NWings anymore. That makes things so much easier.

Rozza- Lol!  Sounds like my kind of night out!  We went out for a meal with friends last night which was lovely.

We seem to be nicely back on two naps but he's dropped night sleep down to about 10.5/11 hours to accommodate it.

Thanks Karen :)  Now I just need to get Lyle sorted :) DLS is coming soon. So I am hoping to maybe get him to a 7-6am ish routine. So have you settled on an idea for a routine with Lewis, with all the schools runs, etc.

Yes thanks.  He's been having long morning nap and then pm nap about 330pm-430pm.  I'm not letting him sleep later than 430pm to preserve 730pm bedtime.  He's been up about 615am the last few days so apart from not wanting to be up that early, the routine has been working quite well!  Mark's on a lot of early shifts right now so can usually leave him asleep if the kids have got after school things on as he's generally been home by then.

Hugs BB for not much sleep!  It is hard to figure out these lo's sometimes! ::)
Rozza- yay for date night!
Sherry- I hope you get that A time figured!
Karen- so glad you got the routine figured out with the school runs!  Love your daughter's name btw!
Elo- hope you get it all figured out soon!
Likybug- fingers crossed!

I was wondering what to do with DS today.  I was planning one nap, but he slept 11 hrs, and fell back asleep nursing, so probably closer to 12 hrs.  We had an ew yesterday, so maybe catching up?  Anyhow, he's been up for 7 hrs now- no nap.  I keep trying, but he just wants to play in his crib.  I'm wondering when he does go to sleep, if maybe I should cap it to 1 hr, or 1.5.  13 hrs of sleep is really about right for him and too much day sleep equals lots of nw's.

Lo woke up at the 1hr mark yet again, super cranky for 20 mins then she was fine, I was feeding her a snack/supper when she started pinching me and when I said NO, ouch that hurts she went into a meltdown!  I took her out of her highchair gave her a drink of water and put her into her bed, either she'll calm down and continue to eat or pass out either option is better then this.
This one hr nap is not working she's tired all afternoon/cranky/meltdowns everyday then a crazy early bt's, up by 6:30am and continue I'm sick of it!!!

We have had a very rough 24 hours, sleepwise.  Tara started walking yesterday, so I'm wondering if it's related.  She's also cutting her 8th tooth.  My little night-sleeping angel, who usually goes 12-13 hours every night without a peep, had NW's at 7:30pm, 8pm, 8:30pm, 9pm, 9:30pm, and 3am.  At 3am I went downstairs to sleep on the couch so I'm not sure what happened after that; just that when I came upstairs at 7:15 she was awake and crying.  I assumed that if she had kept it up for long, DH would have seen to it, but he does sleep more deeply than I do, so who knows. ???

Then at naptime she slept about 20 minutes, then mantra cried off and on for the next hour or so.  I kept hoping she'd self-settle and drop off to sleep as she usually does when she's OT, and her cries never got past the mantra stage, so I didn't go in.  However, she was never quiet for more than 10 minutes or so without starting up again.  So she couldn't have had more than 30 minutes sleep, tops.  All day.  And that after the awful night she had last night!

Really?  Is teething really like this?  I know he is cutting a tooth and for the last 3 nights his NW has increased.

Help!

Jacki, I feel your pain!  I was up four times last night too.  I'm chalking it up to the cold, but it could be the walking too?!  Their sleep is supposed to get bad during these big milestones.  His day sleep hasn't been long enough either.  It's been nearly two weeks so I'm hoping for it to turn around.
Lulu, Ethan hasn't been a terrible teether to date, but I've heard it can be really aweful.  Hang in there, it will pass!
