Sherry Lynn - try 2.5hrs.

Claire - great news about Olly!! I hope Jack will be following after we sort out our routine. I still get mad about how my lo could have had an easier time to learn how to sleep at night if the bloody ped would have listened to us about J's possible reflux when he was 6mo!!! His cough has completely disappeared.

We had been doing 1nap days for about a week and J was a wreck. Yesterday gave him two naps. AM nap was 2hrs and second nap was 40min. Still had NWs but they were VERY brief and J actually slept until 7am. Hasn't done that in ages. Hopefully he has caught up on good sleep and OT is reduced.  So I think we will be trying the short am/long pm nap and hope that we can get nights sorted.

Hope everyone else is doing well.
Oanh

I'd say the same as PP. I always do 2.5 A after 30 min nap.

I wish I had time to stop by. I did 2h50m and I think you guys are right it was a tad bit too much. Hopefully he will be able to pull through and do at least  a 1.5 hr nap. He went down with out a fuss, but it took him a tad longer than usual and he cried out about 3 minutes after he fell asleep. A classic OT sign.
Here I was thinking everybody was going to say they would try more A time :)
I also left out important information like: We had the most horrid night last night. Maybe the worst we've had since we figured out he had MSPI. He woke every 10min-hr. He only did 2 one hour stretches. The first and last of the night. Otherwise he was up every 10-40 min. all night long.

I hope everybody is having a good day.

BB: great news on your night better, you certainly deserve it. So you think it really really was the allergies after all?   That was what we first both thought "way back when."

Lilybug: glad all is going so well!

Sherry: so sorry about the bad night!  He's not teething again is he?

Karen: I am on the same boat. I don't have the persistence to get him down for that catnap, it is too stressful when hes screaming the house down!  Jarrah has been doing full days in the last few weeks without  rest time.  He hasn't had a nap in about 2-3 weeks. That is a big step for us on the 1:0.  Sometimes he's a mess without his rest, sometimes he's not. He's not getting grouchy like he used to at rest time, mow its more of a shadow of tiredness passing over.

So all these one nap days and early bedtimes have meant that the Ew's are getting earlier, the first nap earlier and the bedtime earlier.  Everything is moving backwards!  Today we had a 5:00am wake-up bright as a button after 6:30pm bedtime!  So I said today we will force a cat nap in the sling... he took one at 5:00pm -5:20pm.  I have put him to bed at 8:30pm after 5:00am wakeup... and 10:30 - 12pm nap.  hopefully this will reset his clock and not backfire with an EW!!!!!
I guess we'll just do another run of one nap days until the early bedtimes need shifting again.   ::)

Hugs Sherry.

Eloys - I don't think we're far behind with Ethan.  He napped for the first time in a week and a half yesterday and he's been doing fine without naps and I haven't been putting him down for rest time either, maybe just a bit of tv time.  Might just try every once in a while now if he starts getting grumpy!

We'll be doing two naps with Lewis today as he was up for the day at 615am so back down at 930am.  Well, I say we'll be doing two naps unless he refuses a second one!

We've started to struggle with E's naps again....if anyone fancies having a look at my post & has any words of wisdom, I'd be grateful!  :-*

It seems to me that the one thing LO's vary the MOST on is how much A time to give them after a short nap.  I have heard anywhere from 2.5 hours to 4.5, and my DD can handle even more than that, especially right before BT.  And this is an A time that's somewhat crucial to get right, since you've had so many UT EW's lately, am I correct?  Have you thought about going with tired cues?

You're right about that last A before bed....I've always found that the trickiest one to get right!
His tired cues are pretty hard to read, not that this is helped by having DD running around so he can be prone to OS (we always do a longer WD with him before BT in case of this).

That's it!!!  I am tired of fighting this.  He is doing 1 nap from now on (as long as he does well of course!  We may have some 2 nap days!)  And she is doing 1 hour tops!!!

Early BT for both and if I have to AP at 5am then so be it!!  This lets my DD sleep longer and my LO will sleep on me until 6am so that he will make it to 11ish for his 1 nap.

Hopefully this will work!!!  Crossing my fingers!!!

Today they are both down at 11:30.  Let's see how long he lasts!!!

Now for some Y time for me!!

On nursery days Olly does about 6 hrs A time after a 55 min nap and handles it OK!

Hi all..

Sherry HUGE amount of sympathy for your horrendous night :(  hope you can mange to catch up on ur sleep.

Jakobs been doing really well despite my moms best attempts to jeopardise it lol

well actually its not that funny cos i was ready to quit work when she told me yday hed only had 45mins all day - but jake saved the day by having a cry 45 mins after he went into the cot at 6.45, incl thrashing arms around and crying in a very cross sort of way! and then sleeping till 6.15am.... bit concerned for tonight tho as AGAIN the parentals didnt feel able to stay at my house till 1pm while he napped and instead HAD to take him to theirs (where they did exactly the same as they would have done at my house) and he only had an hour.

one more day to go and then only 1 day working next week, and 1 day the week after....we can make it...we can make it...

maybe their should be a new thread...how to brainwash parents/carers into following BW Routines
